i, the futureman, am about to embark on a venture that will not only change the way that i feel towards my fellow man, but actually change my inner being. this bold and frupplist adventure will dive deep into the heart of a world i have yet to step foot. a step towards understanding my inner redneck.

on sunday morn, as i dress myself, i will not be dressing for comfort, nor will i be dressing for fame. the attire i choose will be the uniform of a nascar fan. indeed, it is so. i have already picked a pair of jeans that i could fit in more than 6 years ago....and a #8 shirt will sheath my chest. the mustache i have been growing for this moment is nearly done. nearly there, for the night of sunday....the coca cola 600 in charlotte NC. the site of futureman's first nasccar event.

i will be sitting on the 5th and 17th row on turn one. the guy with the black rubber face at the end of the race.

this will be the single best place in the world to watch the human be himself.

i thought i would share with you "people" this morning of friday.

nascar is a hell of a spectacle.
i will definately go back.
the excitement level of the racing cars in beyond description to the point of a dream like memory. i cannot explain the power these cars possess but i assure you that when the (re)"start" green flag comes down, the cars appear to gain momentum and reach about 150 mph in about 6 seconds. they dont look like they could grip the road at the speed they get.

the sound of the cars passing by your seat and the ground shaking from the power of the race car that seems to be barely holding on to the ground, will blow you away.....for the entire 400 laps.

it didnt get old. they come around the corner and rip through the straight away and zip right past you and you cannot believe the speed.

it happens so fast that it is a miracle that they can pass and draft and make adjustments to the car to tweak it just right. it would be all i could do to keep the car off the wall on the 1st turn of the race.

it is something everyone needs to experiance.
