Yesterday in my government class a startling fact was brought to my attention about the future of America. Many of you here in these forums would argue that national security is the greatest concern for the nation. Others would maybe argue for healthcare or pollution. Still others trade or employment. But possibly the gravest concern facing our country in the coming century is the national debt and national budget. As of 1999, almsot 15% of the national budget was being used to pay for the interest alone on the national debt. By 2050 this number is projected to excede 20% and growing. Also by this time roughly 60% of the national budget would be going to welfare, medicaid, medicare, and social security. These are estimates of course but that leaves about 20% for everything else, and when I mean everything else, I mean everything. Some of you may be dead and gone by this time, but some of us will not be. The fact of the matter is, the national government is being run into the ground, and hardly anyone is voicing concern, least of of whom the politicians. A radical shift in our policies and services is required to avert this really inevitable crisis. Taxes need to be raised, and spending needs to be cut. Actions like the deficit spending on the Iraq war only dig our hole deeper. So take a moment to consider this fact, and when you step up to that ballot box come November 7th and punch that card or touch that screen, say a prayer cause god knows Bush and Kerry don't have the balls to deal with it.

I'm not voting at all zillah. For one, I won't be quite old enough. Secondly, I wouldn't vote for either of those morons even if I had the chance.
