New server lagging Options

Shortly after the server change i have been lagging quite a bit and when checking my ping i noticed that everyone's ping was well over 100. The pings seemed to fluxuate back and forth causing the intermittent lag. It is not quite as bad as the lag on the original server but can get quite annoying. It seems to be worse on southern france map. However The texture in that map is by far the most detailed of all the maps ,so maybe that has something to do with it?
