Name This Country
709,000 REGULAR (ACTIVE DUTY) PERSONNEL. 293,000 RESERVE TROOPS. EIGHT STANDING ARMY DIVISIONS. 20 AIR FORCE AND NAVY AIR WINGS WITH 2,000 COMBAT AIRCRAFT 232 STRATEGIC BOMBERS. 19 STRATEGIC BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINES WITH 3,114 NUCLEAR WARHEADS ON 232 MISSILES. 500 ICBMs WITH 1,950 WARHEADS. FOUR AIRCRAFT CARRIERS AND 121 SURFACE COMBAT SHIPS AND SUBMARINES PLUS ALL THE SUPPORT BASES, SHIPYARDS, AND LOGISTICAL ASSETS NEEDED TO SUSTAIN SUCH A NAVAL FORCE. IS THIS COUNTRY- RUSSIA ? NO CHINA ? NO GREAT BRITAIN ? NO FRANCE ? WRONG AGAIN ( What ! a Laugh!!!!!) MUST BE USA! ? STILL WRONG (SORT OF) GIVE UP ? THESE ARE THE AMERICAN MILITARY FORCES THAT WERE ELIMINATED DURING THE ADMINISTRATION OF BILL CLINTON AND AL GORE. AND [their elimination] was 100% SUPPORTED BY JOHN KERRY (THESE HE DID VOTE ON) SLEEP WELL! This is not a new message, but a reminder of why we now have over-deployed our National Guard and Reserve Units. HE SAID CHECK THE RECORD Sen. John Kerry, Democrat from Massachusetts says he is the strongest Presidential Candidate on National Defense ! He said Check the Record.. We Did ! Here is what we learned: He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down from 1988 He voted to kill! the Aegis anti aircraft system He ! voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16 He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade He voted to Kill the B-1 He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system He voted to Kill the FA-18 He voted to Kill the B-2 He voted to Kill the F117 He voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988, including a bill for battle armor for our troops. It is most likely, with Sen. John Kerry as President and Commander in Chief of our Armed Services, that they will cease to function making it impossible for our country to protect itself. John Kerry voted to kill all anti-terrorism activities of each and every agency of the U.S. Government. He voted to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%. He voted to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%. He voted to cut th! e funding for the NSA by 80%. THEN, and this is abhorrent to almost every American Voter be you Democrat, Republican or Independent, he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800% !! Ask yourself Is THIS the person you want as President of these United States providing for the Common Defense of the Nation and be the Leader of the Free World ? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Voting history can be accessed through Senate voting records. The above is an accurate summary. -------------------- |

I would say 75% of the people don't understand how taxes effect different groups of people, most are simply confused do to the constant rhetoric about how the middle class pay all the taxes and the B.S. about how the RICH get off easy.
A quick look at the bigger picture. The top 1% pay a little over 20% of all taxes, so that works out to 20% times their share if everything was equal based on income. I would be very curious to see someone justify how they think the RICH don't pay enough of their share of taxes. Also keep in mind a large percentage of the tax burden goes to entitlements for the poor which the RICH get nothing out of. Now at the other extreme is the POOR ( the lowest 20% by income ) pay 1.1% of the tax burden. And for the middle class who make up the middle 20% by income, their share of the overall tax burden works out to a little over 10% And a quick review of actual tax rates. Top 1% average tax rate is 26.7% Top 20% average tax rate is 23.6% Middle 20% tax rate is 14.6% Bottom 20% pay an average 5.2% For Hoods. Okay I should the vast majority of Kerry's votes for financial support of the military are post 9-11, after all he's been a senator for almost 20 years, I'm sure in that time they can dig up a few things he voted for in an attempt to overshadow his poor overall voting record. BTW don't you think it's odd how Kerry's website claims he's strong on Defense and Intelligence funding but only cite bills from 1996-2003, after all he's been a senator for 20 years why only talk about 1996-2003? Maybe it's because they would rather forget how Kerry not only supported but was the sponsor of a bill during 1994-1995 which would of cut $5 billion from intelligence agencies over the life of the bill. Then again, Kerry can always claim it's just a right wing conspiracy but he would have problems explaining how some Democrats were against his huge Intelligence cuts he sponsored in 94-95. Sen. Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ) Kerry's Amendment To Cut Intelligence Would "Close Our Eyes And Ears" To Gathering Threats. Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI) Kerry's Amendment Would Leave Our Troops Vulnerable To Attack. Or here are a few votes Kerry forgets to mention on his website. 1991 Votes to Slash Over $3 Billion from Defense (H.R. 2707, CQ Vote #182, Sep 10, 1991) 1992 Votes to Cut $6 Billion from Defense (S. Con. Res. 106, CQ Vote #73, Apr 9, 1992) 1993 Kerry Introduces Plan To Cut Numerous Defense Programs: Cut the number of Navy submarines and their crews Reduce the number of light infantry units in the Army down to one Reduce tactical fighter wings in the Air Force Terminate the Navy’s coastal mine-hunting ship program Force the retirement of no less than 60,000 members of the Armed Forces in one year. (S.1163, Introduced Jun 24, 1993) 1994 Introduced an amendment to SLASH defense spending by 4 billion dollars and Intelligence spending by about 1 billion. (S. Con. Res. 18, CQ Vote #73, Mar 24, 1993) 1995 Voted YES to freeze defense spending for 7 Years, slashing over $34 Billion from defense. S. Con. Res. 13, CQ Vote #181, May 24, 1995 1996 Voted NO on the Defend America Act of 1996. Voted NO on considering deploying National Missile Defense, and amending ABM Treaty. Bill S 1635 ; vote number 1996-157 on Jun 4, 1996 This one is somewhat hidden because he couldn't find a single person to co-sponsor his bill, so it died before it went anywhere. Introduces a bill to SLASH Department of Defense Funding by 6.5 Billion (S. 1580, Introduced Feb 29, 1996) 1999 Voted YES on allowing another round of military base closures. Bill S.1059 ; vote number 1999-147 on May 26, 1999 Voted YES on adopting the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. -------------------- Not a word was spoken to contradict or disagree with S@bot when he called me a....
