Bad News!!!, Server price hike.. Options

Spearhead Server Owners, Please Read

Here's the bad news. I tested setting the server fps to 10 and it raised pings a bit and made the gameplay a bit choppy. While it wasn't bad, it would reset to 20 on map change, so that removed itself as a viable option.

Unfortunately what this means is price hikes for Spearhead server owners. We, of course will allow people to revert to MOHAA if they wish. After checking making these prices up I checked what other sever hosts are charging for the game and we are bang on with most. Here is the new run down. We will email all spearhead owners as well with this info. This price increase is effective this Friday.

8 Player: $80/month
10 Player: $95/month
12 Player: $110/month
14 Player: $135/month
16 Player: $155/month
18 Player: $178/month
20 Player: $200/month

We will not be offering Spearhead servers above 20 players as it is not economically justafiable for us to do so. The cost/roi calculations I went through actually showed me I should have these prices a bit higher ($140/month for a 10 player server) but I couldn't bring myself to do that.

I know some of you are going to be justifiably upset about this, but this is out of my control. We can't have Spearhead servers overloading the CPU and lagging other games on the machines, and it has to be worth it for us to host the game. If EA comes out with a patch that helps CPU usage we will re-examine our prices.

Also, people who switch back and forth between spearhead and mohaa via iguana will have to pay the Spearhead price.
