I used Fireworks MX 2004.
I have the suite and its great. Just about everything you need. Photoshop is a good program too. It's better suited for photography needs than Fireworks, which is based mainly for web work. When I taught Webmastering, we used Photoshop mainly because that's what I knew. If I had to do it all over again, I would have started using Fireworks earlier.
