The most common mistake I see new players make is not taking time when they move around. If you watch MOB, and some of the better players you will see that most of the time we are careful when we walk around. Hug the wall, look out from the doorway by leaning around the corner, crouch and lean when you can. Take your time and don't just charge around. Think when you are about to go in a room or area where someone could be and account for that. If you watch real military people you will NEVER see guys just bullrushing in somewhere and it is a good way to lose your life quickly.

Lastly I like to use the bait and move tactic alot. Hide somewhere and start shooting people, then retreat and move to a spot that allows you to observe the place you just left. Almost always someone will "come after you" an think you are in the same place.

Nice comment about support fire and key remapping, dariusking.

Yeah, you ARE good and the pop and fire method. Most infuriating fer us slow oldfolks.

I think the best suggestion for new players is to learn the maps. Takes time, gets frustrating, but well worth it. Try playing the whole of one game on one side, then switch the next time your on it. Knowing the terrain is the best advantage you can give yourself.

And, darnit...LOOK AROUND! I can't tell you how many enemy I've popped who ran right by my position just feet away. Hmm, and vice-versa, when I'm in a runnin and gunnin mood. 30 seconds from a good vantage point can let you size up two or three kills...guys in windows have limited view, actually, and you can often see them before they see you.

Give yourself a present and learn the game by camping FIRST. dry.gif Find that spot where you can zing'em from a distance in a limited field of fire. It's good for confidence and learning how to set up kill zones. Don't mind those who would berate you for your activities...and watch and learn from the vets who come and hunt you out!
