How in the HECK do people hit you from sooooooo far away with an SMG when I can barely even see them across the board?

 She played Bogart's mother in Dead End...he was a notorious criminal, returning to his old neighborhood after getting plastic surgery. He had been on the lam for years... He approaches his beloved mother on the staircase of her tenement house and lets her know it's him. Instead of being happy to be reunited, she gives him a tear-jerker rebuff.
