I was wondering if any of you computer gurus have figured out how to connect two seperate computers on the same broadband connection to a single server...
I have a LinkSys router that I use to share my present connection with two computers. Of course, I can't connect them both to a server at the same time, both get bottle-necked on the port 12203 thingy-ma-bob. I'd love to have friends and parisioners over for a shared frag-fest! FatherMurphy |

Uh, that first sentence of yours shows that I am ALREADY way over my head! LOL
I'm using the ol' Win98SE thing...haven't gathered enough reasons to convince the boss (she's Welsh and MOST frugal) to switch over to WinXP yet. Interesting...I thought that if it could be accomplished the answer would lie in the use of alternative ports for connection or something...never even dreamed that the network of the two comps could be tweaked to make it happen! I only have the one ISP connection...the LinkSys router does the NAT thingy to make it seperate for browsing. Would a different setup allow it to happen? A simple hub with a network tweak?
