Michigan Law for Car Sales on Sunday

It's actually a fairly common law. I'm sure it's a very old law, although I've read that there is a big push to bring back the blue laws. In Texas it's illegal to sell cars more than 6 days a week. So, basically all the car dealers are closed on sunday. It wasn't set up to keep people from buying cars, but to make sure dealers didn't force their employees to work on the sabbath. That's pretty much the reason that anything closed on sunday is closed for.
In Columbus, Ohio there is a chain of stores similar to WalMart called Schottenstiens. They are closed saturdays because the owners are Jewish.
What's REALLY stupid is that there are wet and dry areas in the city limits of Dallas. My wife and I didn't bother to check that when we bought our house. I live in the middle of a friggan dry area now! Instead of walking to the corner when I run out of beer, I have to drive down the highway to the wet/dry line. Of course, you can always tell when you pass from a wet/dry line becuase they are loaded with liquor stores, titty bars and whores. This of course creates a really shitty neighborhood for anyone living around there. Great Idea Dallas! Dumbass city...
