I was wondering if there are any paintball fanatics out there. Myself and Corrin are in a small tournament this weekend. Four man teams with Halo like scenarios. I'm hoping I do better than I do on Cassino.

Anyway:

Spyder AMG w/T-board

Ricochet Hopper

Crossfire 64/4500 tank

J & J 16" barrel

High Performance Air Valve

Corrin

Has a Spyder with E-trigger

Whisper Barrel

and modified bolt

It's Cassino for real!

Well if it isn't I will pay the price for my poor marksmanship.

Nice Sachel at the end of the last game. I was hoping I was far enough away not to die. At least I got you before I blew up.

nice man, don't play as much as I used to, but I have myself:

Minimag
68/3000 fiberwrapped x-fire
ricochet ak
12in JJ ceramic

You may not have heard of mags, not many people have, they are off the radar and the best mechanical guns you can buy. Plus I have a tippmann 98 custom. Plus I am awesome.

Your right. I haven't heard of a Minimags. It is all about what works for you. It is tough to go up against some of those auto-guns. They can lay the paint down on you quickly. Its like facing a machine gun. Those Tippmann's are good reliable guns. They take a beating. I have been the victim of them many of time.

That is a nice set-up. I had to repair my Evolution II hopper and I bought a Ricochet Apache Hopper. I heard they were pretty good.

Oddly enough I watched paintball on ESPN2 tonite. I was cleaning the bar and there was paintball on TV. It was like watching a TDM match that I couldn't take part in. My manager is sitting there telling me how he plays paintball and I'm trying to tell him about multiplayer FPS and he just doesn't get it. I know that real life isn't like computers, but I'm sure I've clocked 100 times more hours playing FPS than he has playing paintball. The only difference is I'm not actually getting hit by shit, and I paid waaaaay less, LOL.

Yeah, the are showing the NPPL Championships on ESPN over the next few weeks. OLN also has a show Paintball to Xtremes on during the summer time. Yes, it is nice to play with out any pain, but it doesn't hurt much because you are usually so pumped up that you don't even notice. Most of the time you are hit in the arms, legs, or mast. If you get hit anywhere else you got caught out in the open.

Haha. True. I am not a huge fan of NPPL, I play the woods. Often times I've played 24 hour scenario games...which are worth any amount of money.
Back to the point, video games are fun, but they straight SUCK compared to paintball. First of all, computers lack any sort of peripheral vision, which is our best detector for motion. Speaking of motion, computer games lack a true range of motion. Diving, rolling, tucking, turning your body without your head moving, lol.
These are obvious, but here are the two main things
1. The game is about a million percent more mental. Everything is more calculated and organized. But since paintballs don't neccessarily hurt that much people will take risks, but they are much more calculated than in computer games.
2. The rush is also just under a million percent better. People always talking about video games and/or paintball being "so close to war". Well i've never been in a war, and I never want to be, and honestly i never want to be in anything close to war, unless I have to of course. So to me paintball, especially these 300+ people 24 games, is like hide and seek on PCP. It's like pushing your body as far as it can go, and you get to shoot at moving, smart targets. Plus you don't die when you get shot.

It's funny, because people who are good at video games come and play with us sometimes and suck. It's like they can't believe that their gun isn't always centered in their field of vision, and for some reason they are tired...

You speak the truth. I enjoy watching those NPPL games, but I know I don't have the reflexes or the marker to play against those guys on any level. I play a lot of woods ball, but I have been on the speedball course a couple of times. The rush is great. It pumps you up when you know your the only one left in the game, and the other team is closing in on you. My problem in paintball is my big butt sticks out from the trees. That isn't a good thing. At least, I have plenty of padding back there.

I'm not talking trash about paintball. Only that I saw it on TV different than my boss saw it. I was thinking about strategy and movement from a PC perspectived and he, like you guys, talked about adrenaline and such. I would love to play paintball. I had friends in college that were on a top team, or so I was told. The only thing was that I found out how much all that stuff cost. It might not seem so outrageous now (don't know the cost) but back then I just felt like a poor boy in a nice neighborhood. Just like the BMX faze, the RC car faze, the real car faze, the great stereo faze... sad.gif...LOL

Bar, I know what you're saying dude. I was suggesting that you get out and play it some time. Rental is cheap. You don't need to mess around with those $1200 guns.
Play, play, play, if you like video games, you'd love this shit.
