Howdy - 3 times now on the CoD UO standard map server, the game crashed. I had to push the reset button to restart my PC. When I try to rejoin the game, it says I can't join for 16 minutes. Once it was 18 minutes.
What's going on? Any thoughts? Thanks Bertie the Bunyip P.S. I have "yes" for automatic downloads |

Hey Bernie,
Try this it has worked for me and I was having the same problem as you. Go get the pbsetup program here http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php. Make sure you save the program to you pb folder in your COD folder. Then run go to the folder using explorer and run the program and follow directions to setup COD and check for updates. I found when I tried to run the program immediately after DL the pb files were not being placed into the right folder. This seems to have worked for me, however, I have also turned down the quality of some of my sound and video features. I haven't tried to run again at my old settings but I was reading that PB uses a decent chunk of memory and if your system is memory limited then have high quality audio and video setting could cause PB to crash. Hope that helps and you can get back to gaming. Wino |

I did not have any problems on Tuchola Forest earlier today, but a few minutes ago, the Standard Map Rotation (Foy) froze-up and I had to hit the reset button. The Standard Map Rotation Server locked me out for 19 minutes. Clearly, something is wrong with PunkBuster. This is the first time in more than a year of playing on MOB servers that I have had this kind of problem. Others are having the same problem as well. I filed an incident report with the PunkBuster people. I'll see what they have to say. As for memory, I have 1GB of PC 3200 RAM and a 128 MB BFG 6800 OC video card. I reduced the video levels, but the water in the maps looked like a steel plate. No way did I pay $200 for a video card to have that - LOL. Bertie the Bunyip |

I think my problem is memory related I was playing yesterday and the game was working fine, but I was not running Ventrilo. The I started up Ventrilo and went back to the game and it crashed on me. I only have 512 MB so I'll just get some more memory and hopefully that will be the end of it. I'll update you if I find anything else. |

6PAK - you might be right. I thought that you modified PunkBuster to keep me from killing you.
As far as I can tell, I have the latest version of PB installed. Here's a screenshot: Codename - PunkBuster support wants to install the first driver on the MSI motherboard website. The link they provided is for a SATA RAID driver. I don't have SATA hard drives in my PC, so I wrote back for clarification. I also reinstalled the video, audio, and chipset drivers. No joy here either. Bertie the Bunyip P.S. There are some nasty Smilies available here. Bertie the Bunyip Attached thumbnail(s) |
