Hi all, decided to remodel my kitchen. I have a slate floor going in next Wednesday... so I had to have all my painting done.
The first night my girlfriend comes over to paint with me. We open a huge bottle of red wine and grab our rollers and brushes and go to work. Everything seems to be going smooth and we continue on with more wine and more wine (oh yea, and painting). It's 01:45 am, and the work is complete for the night. We sit down for our last glass of wine (as both bottles are empty) and look at the faux finish on the one wall. It looks like a wolf to Krystal, I think it looks like a lady's head with a big furry hat holding a dove. Nothing we can do at this time. So I go to bed (after we're finished the wine)...LOL
Dave gets up in the morning and say's nice rooster on the wall. I start laughing so hard...(all that work). Now I'm thinking this could really be a conversation piece...LOL Decide to repaint the wall and re-do the suade technique... PERFECT. Could barely lift my right arm after all the techniques I did, but the best part was jumping on last night and finding a full house on Barb.
So I woke up this morning and didn't like the trim. So I re-painted the trim in a new color and am currently waiting for it to dry so I can do a smoke glaze finish.
The kitchen is a disaster, had to order out last night...LOL.

Now I need new lighting and even looked at a new stove. (Only because I am having my backsplash done in slate as well)
Stay tuned for before and after pictures.....

With that much wine, I'm surprised that it wasn't mostly body painting.

Have fun in the new kitchen!

Finished most of the trim, my friend Krystal drops by (no body painting yet Mike....LOL) to check out the work and trim color. Her husband thinks she ran to the store...LOL she lives 15 mins from my house. We convince Dave not to tell Eric that she was here, as we are spending New Years at her house tomorrow. She loves the smoked glaze finish on the trim. I continue to work and she pops open a bottle of wine....I decide time for a break and we sit there drinking wine, admiring the great work we did. Talk about our next project...bottle of wine is done and Krystal has to sneak back to her house. She knows Eric is probably playing COD2 anyways.
It's 12:15 ..... I am done for the night. Now to check out who is still on-line playing UO.

(By the way, I even cooked a 3 course meal sometime during the evening...LOL)

Gene: Being a woman means multi-tasking (and yes sometimes it's sucks....teeheehee)
Bargod: Just send me the list and I'll add it to my agenda...LOL
Rommel: Looking forward to seeing you on Barb and hearing your cheerful voice.
Mike: Body Painting....LOL How do you know about that stuff??? Don't say Google. hahaha

T/A my comment had more to do with whatever chromosome it is that requires you women to crave constant change. If it's not the color of the walls it's your hair. If it's not your hair it's the furniture. If it's not the furniture it's your black shoes that just arent the right black.... you get the drift.... I just thank God I'm a male. You women are just too fickle for my liking smile.gif

LOL, Gene you are correct there is always something that needs changing from a woman's perspective. I love doing interior decorating and everytime Dave would go away, he would come home to something changed. The nice part is Dave always loves my work and is very proud when people ask him what interior decorater did our home. Dave does not pay a penny for this.... I have a good job and I do all my own work.

One of my friends has twin girls, when I went to her house I was in the twins room and it looked like a boys room. Since the room was small with green carpet and dark greeen walls I told her it looked like a dungeon and I re-did the entire room including curtains, paint and border for $75.00. The girls love it, they call it the princess room.

I think I might take early retirement and start an interior decorating business. But I can't retire until I am 50 so that will be awhile. I do stained glass work as well. Dave's laughs because every piece I make someone takes or buys. I used to make stained glass inserts for cupboards (for a cabinet maker)...but with working full time, I didn't like the dead lines....If I had a 15 hour day at work, I was not in the mood to work on the project. So now I just do it for friends and family.

Maybe I could start charging Dave....hmmmm.

And the problem is?????????.

You know why God made womans feet smaller than mens............ So they can stand closer to the kitchen sink.

I have to find a picture of T/A carrying 440 Exhaust Manifolds. You know those old heavey cast iron ones that weight about 25lbs each.
Story goes we are at a classic car meet and I spy a set of manifolds for my restoration. T/A buys them without my knowledge and I am now pissed off I didn't get them when I should have.
I walk a mile back to get the truck and told T/A I would pick her up at the front gate. Sooooooo Iam waiting and waiting and here comes this beautiful blonde who looks familiar carrying a set of manifolds.

Well ......... I fall in love all over again.

I can't get out of the truck because I am looking for my camera because I have to get a picture of this. Snap the picture and all the men standing around with wife's and girlfriends are commenting. " NOW THERES A WOMAN OF MY DREAMS".

I step forward "SORRY FELLA'S AREADY TAKEN AND SHE'S A KEEPER"

By the way.... God made woman's feet small because we have to give you men the boot every once in awhile and God didn't want it to hurt you too much...hahahaha.

LOL! Now, there is a beautiful set of manifolds!

Good job on landing the keeper, Dave. You two are very lucky to have found each other, and we are all lucky you found us!

Happy New Year to you and all MOBsters. May the next year bring you even more happiness and joy ... and a lovely slate floor to boot.

Awwww! Nothing screams RED NECK like a day at the swaps, your woman walking-carrying a set of cast iron manifolds for over a mile and then having her stand there while you fumble around trying to capture this "Kodak moment"! Someone bring me a hammer, so I can knock out my front teeth and then let's all go to a Nascar race!! w00t2.gif LMAO!!

Just kidding guys, I couldn't resist. tongue.gif 6pak, you're an angel! Cuda, you are a fortunate man! Continued successes!
