I don't understand, I really don't. my computer keeps updating at the least appropiate time... I checked on taskmanager, updating takes up 30% of the weak aready processor I got...

Examples: I was playing at Tuchola last night and us, germans were storming r2, the last enemy bunker, the russians resisted, and I had a sniper rifle, anw was picking off those peasky pak gunnes, and running in straight lines fools. Then BAM! framerate drops to like 5... and at such conditions one has to be the terminator to hit anything. Why? Cause my computer starts updating...

Another example: So I was playing Cossacks 2, u probably never heard of it but that's ok.. ita basically a RTS, so its working fine, I send everything I got at the enemy, and then bam... everything slows, and I know its updating cause I checked, and of course cause I can't see anything, and whole battalions get routed, I still win, but the caulties are staggering.

I know there option to turnoff autoputade, and I sure did, but now some Lucomscallproxy.exe and LUAupt.exe turn up and mess it all up for me.

I just want to know if its normal that it updates at times when U need the processing power... or is my computer just a bastard and does it to annoy me because its possesed by the devil?

I guess you'll have to find out what this program is and turn off auto update as well.

I believe the computer dosen't care what your running at the time, when its suppose to auto update, it does.

Polska, if you don't want the Taskmanager to load programs and run them in the background do this;

Start, control panel, Administrative tools, Services, Scroll down to "Task Scheduler", double click, drop down "startup type" and click "Disabled", then go to "service status:" and click "stop". Restart your computer.

When it restarts, you can do this as well;

Start, Run, in the box type "msconfig" without the quotes and then click OK. Then click on the startup tab and surf through all the programs listed. Uncheck the one's that you are sure you don't need to run at startup (i.e. Microsoft office startup, Adobe reader, etc.) Some will be a little bit difficult to know what they are, but if you uncheck something that needs to run at startup, just repeat the process and re-check the box.

Try that and see what happens. You should see some very slight improvements in performance, as some programs will not be running in the background using precious resources.

I did as u suggested mule(should have done it by myself cause its common sence, but sometime's its not so common) Its LUComCallBack.exe from LU--> Live update from my norton antivirus, and it apparently can not be turned off, Norton antivirus can be turned off, but then I'll need to block internat acces, cause I might get some bloody virus... oh well then... I shall suffer in peace and quiet then...

Just shut off the virus protection when you go into a game, there are no viruses in COD. Just remember to turn it back on when your surfing the web.

Polska, you can shut down Norton, completely, by way of "msconfig". Once you are finished playing, go back in and re-enable your antivirus using "msconfig". Norton is a huge drain on your computers resources. That is why I stopped using Symantec Products completely. I now use AVG Free antivirus (free, by the way. Google it) and use Windows firewall, and haven't had a virus since I stopped searching for and downloading cheats to CODUO. tongue.gif

Norton is really overkill, unless you are exposing your computer to sites that might be infected, or opening suspicious emails. I have AVG installed on my computer, but I have it disabled all the time. I update it once a month! NO VIRUSES. You will absolutely notice marked improvement in disabling or eliminating Norton- resource hog- antivirus.

Well my friend, that is EXACTLY what they wanted you and me and everyone else using thier free product to believe! However, I am on task for you and every other bargain seeking, computer owning, individual who cannot pass up a great deal and I got out my shovel and dug around until I found their FREE product once more.

It is called AVG FREE 7.5 and if you already have their product installed, download this update by selecting the "run" option instead of "save" when downloading. When prompted, select the "repair" option during installation and the installation shield will input the necessary files to update your version to the NEW, FREE 7.5 version!!

What will this cost you, you ask? Absolutely nada, zilch, zero! Good luck and have fun!

Here is the link to get the ball rolling!

I think it will still be offered free, you just dont get the "good stuff". You get what you already have, nothing more, maybe less. I believe the 15th is just when they release (i havent seen the notice recently) the new version with all the bells and whistles.
