When I started mine, it was numbers. They told me it must be approved first and it took about 2 days before I had the name. My friends worked the same way??

Wotansvolk, you have to create your addy name in your account settings, it has nothing to do with a waiting period. Once you choose something, it's permanent, so choose wisely.

BTW, why do you have an Ariel background? Is there something we should know?

It is the same dog. Smokey is a Mini-pinscher. There is no relation with the doberman pinscher. Its kinda weird, but once you read about the dog, you see all the little things about them and one of the most common mistakes is people think they are related. That picture is as big as he is going to get. He is a big tyme lover dog. He loves to snuggle. He sleeps in our bed with us every night. He is great with kids. The only problem with this breed of dog is he is a hyper dog. When we have company, he is jumping in the air, bouncing from couch to couch and looking and sniffing the hell out of them for the first 15 mins or so. Then he relaxes with his blanket.

A Warning to all Dog Owners!!!!!!! I learned this the hard and very expensive way!!!! DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG GRAPES OR RAISINS!!!! A dog can be fine and eat a whole bag of grapes or raisins, but one day, all it will take is one single grape or raisin to cause their kidneys to fail. We had always known about Chocolate being poisonious to dogs depending on the type of chocolate and amount. But never knew this about grapes or raisins. Smokey was on an I.V. in the animal hospital for 3 days because of this. The bill for this was over usd2000.00. But he is like part of our family and we would do anything for him. So please, if you have a dog, never feed them grapes or raisins!

When i went to France couple of years ago i stayed in a family were there was 3 dogs. One of them was a chocolate addict, when you pulled out a chocolate bar he would just sit in front of you starring at the chocolate and start "moaning"(is it a word?) until you give him a piece. That dog was 12 years old and hate chocolate all his life...but it wasn't big amount of it.

Geez 2000$.....man you got to love the dog, cause if you don't a 12 gauge shotgun cartridge is not very expensive!!

Chocolate contains a chemical Theobromine. This is what is poisonious to dogs. Different chocolates contain different amounts of this chemical so its hard to say how much of the particular chocolate they gave him would kill him. Here is a list of the chocolates and how much it would take:

White chocolate: 200 ounces per pound of body weight. It takes 250 pounds of white chocolate to cause signs of poisoning in a 20-pound dog, 125 pounds for a 10-pound dog.

Milk chocolate: 1 ounce per pound of body weight. Approximately one pound of milk chocolate is poisonous to a 20-pound dog; one-half pound for a 10-pound dog. The average chocolate bar contains 2 to 3 ounces of milk chocolate. It would take 2-3 candy bars to poison a 10 pound dog. Semi-sweet chocolate has a similar toxic level.

Sweet cocoa: 0.3 ounces per pound of body weight. One-third of a pound of sweet cocoa is toxic to a 20-pound dog; 1/6 pound for a 10-pound dog.

Baking chocolate: 0.1 ounce per pound body weight. Two one-ounce squares of bakers' chocolate is toxic to a 20-pound dog; one ounce for a 10-pound dog.
