Doyle your ok in my book, a transplanted southener rooting for my beloved red sox. ![]() ![]() ...............![]() And for you Orioles fans .... Well Mule it is like this... When I was young and didn't know any better and like everyone else was enthralled with Mickey and Roger, Babe and Joe... I was a (god forbid) Yankees fan. Then my Mother (who moved to Boston after her and my father divorced became a die hard Sox fan. She would really give me crap about the Yankees. So little by little I became a Sox fan. When I lived in New Orleans I would fly to Boston every month for a week (to take care of clients in the Boston and New England area, and during the season would take my Mother to a couple of games a year. I never had problems getting tickets as the Media people I worked with (Comcast, Necn, NESN, and WEEI radio) would always have tickets available for me if I wanted or needed them. So you see I was a fan before relocating to this cold assed place! lmao -------------------- ![]() "Fight Alone... YOU... Die Alone!...Fight as a Team...AND WIN!" |

I've always been a Rangers fan; I just hope they get good sometime.
My main baseball focus is toward Texas A&M baseball, though. -------------------- courtesy of harrycaray |

I hope you guys arent just bandwagon Cardinals fans. I been a card fan since I started playing and watching baseball. RedSox always talk about how good they are. OMG yall won 1 world series in how many years. I dont think that as a reason to brag. Thats worse that rooting for the Blue Jays or Devil Rays. The cardinals have one of the best small ball coaches and team in the league. We do more bunts, suicide sqeezes, and double steals than any other team in the MLB. Its not about home runs it about small ball and defense. Thats how close games are won.
Ok this is for the yankee fans we got out there. You got the highest payroll in the major leagues and you cant win nothing. Yes yall won 20+ word series, why because yall had the best team not talent. Before the all-star team you have now yall had good ball players not all talent players. A-rod should be E-rod for how many errors he gets or maybe K-rod for his k's. If you look at his stat sheet you would think he is a pitcher for how many strike out he gets. ive heard him mention it before,id like to know as well.
yankees -no pitching, george messed with a good team , free agents arent the answer**farming is** red sox- no pitching , curse started again when you traded players to yankees toronto-they are for real ,if they can get their shit together orioles- same thing, just remember two names now- **HAYDEN PENN -ADAM LOEWEN ** this is the first time they have gone out and made pitching their major concern in the off season.they have the bats, now they have pitching! devil rays- will they ever be good? alot of talent goes there and theyve had quality managers but never even had a shot-have they been in the playoffs yet? ive always thought the marlins shouldve been in the amarican east and tampa in nl. -------------------- ![]() |

"red sox- no pitching , curse started again when you traded players to yankees" I beg to differ UNDEAD. As for pitching, we just added Daisuke Matsuzaka to the rotation, ever heard of him? You should have its been in all the papers and on TV. We still have Schilling, Beckett, Papelbon, Wakefield and Jon Lester, who according to a CT scan he took last week in Tacoma, Wash., is cancer free. "you traded players to yankees" Johnny Damon? He defected when his contract was up. Michael Myers, he sucks no big loss. Did I miss anyone? The yankee's have always had the money to sign good players, but it hasn't always translated into a world series ring. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

yeah, shilling and wake below minus roids! hey i actually like the red sox ,i grew up being a die hard fred lynn fan, ironiclly he ended his career with the os. paplebon is awesome but is he going to be healthy? the korean %$#!@ ,**not proven ** just know they will figure him out by mid season , i could be wrong though ,he could be the best pitcher ever.
big poppy is by far the meanest batter in the league with manny hitting well! i know most think that damon didnt bring much but i believe he brought a chemistry to the team.you guys were on fire in 06 and fizzeled with injuries at the end,im amazed your mngmt didnt go out to get more young pitchers and another closer. hows the farm system ?? Hahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa, "minus roids." You're right though, father times creeping up on those two guys. Noboby here wanted to see Damon go, espically to the yankees, but thats baseball. "hows the farm system ??" Usally pretty good, but when they have a good player they trade him for a journeyman player or two when they need help because of injuries mid-season. "im amazed your mngmt didnt go out to get more young pitchers and another closer. " With the money they spent on " the korean %$#!@", there isn't much money left to go around. " the korean %$#!@", "**not proven **" Not in the U.S. anyway, time will tell. Oh, "the korean %$#!@", he's japanese. "i grew up being a die hard fred lynn fan," Boy that name brings back some fond memories, he was one hell of a ball player. Korean? Try the most celebrated JAPANESE pitcher in the Japanese majors. AND... he did pretty well when he was the star of the multi national baseball tournament last year. Remember that tournament? Can't remember what they called it but the Japanese won it.. and they were playing against our MLB players. Now, technically you are correct, he is unproven in MLB play. In Japan they play a 6 man rotation (for pitchers) here he will need to adjust to a 5 man rotation. Personally I don't think that will be a problem for this young gun. For example... in Japan during spring training he would throw over 300 pitches in the regular mound trips.. here they only required him to throw 40, lol quite a difference. As for the closer... we still have our closer but.. they are looking to add another so he can be in the rotation. As for last year.. you are correct the Sox were on fire... until the break, and then things started to go down hill... I personally attribute this to two factors... #1 untimely injuries... #2 MANNY FRICKIN QUIT! the pussy just layed down and complained his ole knee was hurting him. I really think that had a negative effect on the rest of the team. Regardless if they denied that being the case. He may be one of the most feared hitters in baseball.. but I for one would get rid of him in a heartbeat, if I were in the position. I can not condone a player that plays halfassed (especially when they are paid the money these guys are paid) and that is the impression I get from watching Matilda oops.. (I mean Manny)... play. Hit the ball and shuffle towards 1st base, guess he wasn't trained to haul tail to first base and to hustle on every play. TRADE HIM TRADE HIM TRADE HIM. Or... how about this one... during play, leave the field run behind the Green Monster.. to take a leak! give me a break... lol Unfortunately no other team is interested in paying the guy 10 million a year and put up with his prima dona attitude. Sorry I got off on this tangent.. lol This post has been edited by Doyle: 02/19/07 1:39pm -------------------- ![]() "Fight Alone... YOU... Die Alone!...Fight as a Team...AND WIN!" |
