Well, I'm an Art Director for a printing, and marketing company twenty minutes west of downtown Cleveland. I've been doing this for 17 years and I have finally reached that crossroads in my professional career to make a job change and to go into something totally different, you can say that I'm just fed-up, burned out, and stressed out with the industry as a whole, or I'm going through a mid life crisis. So… I put my two-week notice in with my current employer this past Monday and I'm going to pursue a new career at the ripe old age of 37 in the insurance business. I'm going to be working for a company that is evolved in helping small micro businesses in getting set up with health and life insurance and other benefit programs.
In the next few months things should be very interesting to say the least! Who knows you may see more of me in Barb trying to blow off a little steam! See ya on the battlefield. -------------------- |

Good for you Snowman! We all need to do that from time to time. I did the first time at 34 and the most recent change at 52. Went from Calibration Electronics to office furniture manufacturing to the construction industry. Can't stay at the same place too long or become stagnant. Life's way too short for that.

Goosedown and I have something in common. I'm 51, I am a licensed master electrician with an A.A.S. degree in electronic technology, i've been in the electricial field for 37 years. I work as an industrial electricial technician specializing in troubleshooting malfunctions of industrial machinery. There was a similar thread over a year ago and I posted this. I'm still there. I work as a Mechanical Engineering designer in the nuclear industry. Enjoy the work but hate the being a contract worker. They always hire contract workers when they get behind, the sucky part of the job, very long hours.

Good luck Snowman!!
I've been in the printing industry steadily for the past 10 years, and on and off for 20, and am looking at a severe job change myself in the next few months. I'm going to go get a job somewhere like Lowes, or Home Depot, and hopefully finish up my classes to become an EMT |

The one thing I have learned is the hardest job is "a full time Mother". I give Drewster and the other full time Mom's the most credit!! That job get's very little recognition for the dedication they provide unconditionally!
Cheers to you Drewster! -------------------- {MOB}{Regs} 440Cuda ![]() |
