Alrighty. Thanks again for all the critique guys. After reading all these replies, I realize that a lot of people would probably judge me by it and potentially judge {MOB} and the forum administration for letting me keep a sig like that. So I guess it isn't really fair to everyone. I will be changing it as soon as I have the time.

Sincere Thanks,

Axel

My opinion is just this, if we have avatars with strippers and boobs, how can yours be offensive? It has been made clear that people can turn off their avatars and sig viewing. So all for one and one for all. I think your sig looks great.

T/A6Pak

You had to go there... dint ya. I will tell you there little missy, my lovely ladies make people feel good, I would be willing to bet, that if miss jiggly were at the front lines of most wars, people would stop shooting....imagine that a whole hord of them were running and then they got splashed with water and fell on top of eachother for a second and.... oops. got lost there for a bit.

My "ummm" reaction was to show my hypocracy to judge. I realize I took heat for my bouncy babes before, so who was I to judge, yet on the other hand, show me a place where boutiful bosoms are considered hurtful and I will show you a place that I must never go.

Love you sixie...

Wha? I haven't seen one of those yet. Wonder what that means, lol. I must get some for the dumbasses that park in front of my house. I've actually been conteplating what kind of sticker would be best. I was thinking NAMBLA would be good but then again, something that says something about their parking and rudeness to park right in front of my house or mailbox would be good. Rainbow handicap sticker, might have to check it out.

OMG, I saw a truck TODAY painted w/the stars and bars on it while I was down in Richmond, VA. The funny thing was all the stickers that were also on the truck. Kind of defends my arguement on this earlier.

One sticker said, "heritage not hate"

but that was quickly followed by the one in the middle of the back window which was huge... it read,
"MLK, I had a dream too but when I woke up y'all were still here"

I mean, really... if that doesn't sum it up, I'm not sure what does. My personal thoughts are the image is about hate, whether is hate from 150 years ago or hate today. To me, the people that have these stickers or flags run in the same category as the people that fly the Nazi party or that Rev Phelps group that attends soldiers funerals and say "thank god for IEDs" and other stuff. Basically, they're looking for a shock reaction and I find it immature. What, the US flag isn't good enough for ya?

Ok. I have had time to think this over some more, and I have decided to use this as my sig. I have decided this because I feel that I have a right to do this without people judging me and the others around me by doing this. I know that this is contradictory to my previous post, but if you look around on the {MOB} forums, there are other things out and about that my be viewed as offensive. The women in the sigs/avatars, as mentioned above (I forget who mentioned that, sorry) I believe that would be considered a little more offensive than a flag. (Not that I don't like the women! dribble.gif Keep 'em coming.) But if you were to look at someone like IronCross's sig, he has Nazi emblems on it and I haven't heard anyone complain about that. Because Iron has swastikas and Nazi emblems on it, does that mean he is a Nazi? No. Because I have a rebel flag on my sig, does that mean that I am a KKK skinheaded freak? No. Just like in Iron's sig, the Nazi emblems represent a part of our history, albeit not a good part of our history, my sig represents a part of our history as well. The rebel troops of the 1860s were fighting for their country just as the Union troops were. Therefore they should be remembered/honored just as much as any federal troops. I also have ties to the Civil War in that many of my distant relatives were involved. Altogether, this sig is not meant in a racist/offensive way. I respect all comments and opinions of everyone, but I will leave on this final note: Yes, while some who raise the stars and bars believe in the racism and segregated ways of our past, others do not. Seeing that I am with the latter of the two, I believe that I should be able to show the rebel flag as a picture, and nothing more.

P.S. (sorry to drag you into this IronCross) And Pez, the American flag is more than good enough for me. And just to let you know, it flies proudly over my front step. smile.gif

THIS SIG IN NO WAY REPRESENTS HATE AND RACISM. IT IS A PICTURE AND NOTHING MORE!

It was directed at you completely, just the whole glob of the guys who have their cars covered in the confederate flag. Seriously though, I think it's gained it's infamous stature because of it's taboo nature. If you're really into the Civil War and into your family history, why not look up your state flag from the war or what flag your family carried. The stars and bars was not the official flag of the confederacy and if I remember correctly, used most often by Texan troops. Again, I think it has been marketed as THE flag of the confederacy and the south by people making a buck and the fact that it's taboo and shocking to a lot of people makes it cool. Also, an Iron Cross and a swastika are two different things. It's like comparing a purple heart to a regiment flag.

Honestly (as a northerner whose family history had a very prominent role in the events leading up to the Civil War) I associate the confederate flag with racism. Would I ever assume you were a racist, I hope not but the temptation would still be there.

As for the swastikas, I equate them with the Nazi party and hate groups as well. I realize that some people here have them in honor of the game itself which is based upon WWII, so I am a little more accepting of them within boundries.

Do I object to both? YES. Would I call you out on it, no.

Just my two pence.

Well put. If you don't like my 420x180 pixel square, then you need to man up and quit complaining. It isn't a big deal, and it is staying up until a member of {MOB}, [Regs], or someone with some authority asks me to remove it, or until I decide that it is time for me to make a new one.

Thanks for understanding. biggrin.gif

P.S. Not trying to piss off anyone or cause drama. I love you all! wub.gif (In a manly, non-gay way.) wink.gif

I like the sig. I love Southern pride and I don't like racism. You can fly that flag with pride without being a racist. My father-in-law is a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans because he simply loves the South; he is by no means a racist. It seems like a lot of folks in America are trying to find something to get offended over.

I think if you had to ask the question you already have your answer. However the world is way too PC and it is just a picture on a website. There are other things to get worked up about......

I agree that the world is too pc nowadays, but we're also not pc enough at times. Also, quick edit on my previous post, meant to say that the thread WASN'T directed completely at Axel. I'm not really offended by the image, but I am empathatic to others and can understand why they would be concerned by it. Would you be concerned if you saw some neo-nazi dudes hanging out at your local 7-11? They'll say that it's not about hate, just they like WWII Germany and the historical side of it so it's okay to wear swastikas. German did it right man... after the war they made it illegal to have swastikas on anything. Again, I'm not offended by the Civil War historical part of the Stars and Bars, but the fact that it was adopted as the flag for the KKK... come on. Maybe you guys in the south should rise up against the KKK and make them change their flag so your heritage symbol isn't one of hatred. But please stop acting like nobody should have anything to say about it. I get that all the time in Richmond and I debate those guys for hours about it. They keep w/the same old "historical" theme in the debate till they finally get frustrated and throw out the N word a few times and my case is at rest.

Here's a good arguement. Think Black Panthers. Would it be okay for a bunch of black people to have flags, stickers, shirts w/Black Panthers on them and possibly a gun rack or two in their car? Would you be concerned for your safety? What about an Iraqi Fahadeen flag? Don't say it doesn't count cause it's not this country because the people that fly the Stars and Bars still seem to think the South Will Rise Again and consider themselves seperate from the Union.

PS - The war is over, y'all lost.
