Nothing is not aloud to play there anymore. Either is Capt. Canuck. They clearly are huge, big, fat, ugly cheaters. I demand they not play if I decide to go there again. Or they must play on my team, or if on the other team they agree to not kill me more than 5 times. I think these rules are fair, especially for a guy that hasn't played base in months. -------------------- |

Well folks, I just learned a whole lot about Tuchola Forest -- it is a very picky map and does not play well with others. Bottom line, it won't be going into this server.
What I found is that if a player has any custom maps in his/her uo folder, then Tuchola won't download. The player's game hangs in an endless download where nothing happens. Sometimes it will time-out after about 5 minutes and tell you some unpure map to remove, okay fine. But the rest of the time it hangs there forever. If I manually put Tuchola in my uo folder, then yes, the game would run fine. But Tuchola would not download for me if I had any custom maps in my uo folder. That, my friends, is not a good thing. So, now I know why everyone's been shouting about not being able to get into mwcm, or back when I put up the custom sniper server.... it's the Tuchola map that is the problem. It will screw you up both ways, if it's on a server or if you're going to a Tuch server. So, all of you Tuchola players, if you go to any servers with custom maps, you are probably going to have to take your Tuchola map out (mp_uo_tuchola_b3.pk3) of your uo folder before you can get on those servers. Because Tuchola will change your game's pure file list state to where other custom maps will not download to you. Or if they do, they may not run right, or you may experience severe lag. So, no Tuchola Forest map for the mwba server. Any other map suggestions welcome. -------------------- [img][/img]

Tuchola might be too finicky to work with modern weapons, but you can play it and still download many other custom maps. I have had times where I get strange errors going into other servers. Perhaps that was Tuchola having an effect, but with about 15 different mod's in my uo folder, it would be difficult to say for sure where the problem originated. -------------------- ![]() |

Would it be possible to put Foy into the rotation on this server? I think that would be interesting if possible.. Great server by the way. Alot of fun!

Foy is now on the server. I took out Ponyri as seems not a lot of people were excited by it, lol. Honest, I'm not a bas player so you who are need to tell me what maps to put in there.
I saw a couple of connection-interruption problems today on the server. Until I know for sure what happened and figure out a fix, I reduced the player slots down a little bit. -------------------- [img][/img]

It give "max characters exceeded" before it crashes. Usually when lots of people are on. "Max gamestate characters exceeded", to be more accurate. Happened again when less than 30 people on. Personally, I had just barely fired my rocket, I could still see it in flight (and I was in base...a 15 foot area), and it crashed. In this case, it almost seemed like my action caused the crash. Could the rocket launcher be doing it? -------------------- ![]() |

Nope, it could have been Foy this time, conflicting with Barbarossa. I know that with the mods, there's not a lot of gamestate left over, and Barb is a huge map that uses a lot of gamestate.
I put back in Ponyri instead of Foy. Everythings exactly as it was when the server ran fine with no problems the other day. However, there is another possiblity. It's under investigation. Thanks for the info MOD. -------------------- [img][/img]

Steel you use the awe mod right?
When I had my server befor I also ran awe mod, and in the read me files it said that it might crash the server if you run BAS game types. Which it did, just to give you aheads up. -------------------- ![]() Everything is funny as long as it is happening to somebody else. |

I'm not sure if this is clear, but the "max gamestate" message has been happening since Friday, before Foy. I've been playing it a decent amount, and it crashed at least twice on Friday with that message. It also crashed today (Sunday) again.
For information purposes. -------------------- ![]() |

Is there a limit to the number of trip wires that can be set?
Every server I've played on with that mod has a limit. Just wondering if that could be a factor... -------------------- ![]() |

At one point it wouldn't let me lay a tripwire and it said the team had reached the tripwire limit.
So there must be a limit. This post has been edited by Shred and Burn: 07/02/07 12:20am |

Yep, five tripwires per team can be active at one time.
As Barkman said, it could be simply the AWE mod. I've ran my weapons mods in BAS with the Platinum War Mod, but never AWE before. -------------------- [img][/img]

Hey guys, I was going to put some changes in the middle of the night, and noticed that mwba seems to be running fine now.
It did not hang at all yesterday (Sunday). I know this because there's an internal file that changes date/time each time the server is restarted. That file was reset at Sunday morning's player-stats run and no time afterwards the whole day, so reducing the slots and putting back in Ponyri seems to have done the trick to keeping it running. -------------------- [img][/img]
