well, run the new Nvidia forceware that came out in July.

It covers most GeForce cards. Might help, never know.

Here is the procedure for enabling the console in Airborne. 1 right click the icon on the desktop and click properties. 2 in the target box add to the end of that line ....spacebar -enableconsole then click ok. Here are a few commands i know..1...... stat fps 1 enables the fps counter in the demo. 2 allammo 3 loaded 4 allweapons. there is also an AI mod for the demo that turns the germans into Elite SS. If you finish the demo in elite mode, the next time and every time after the germans get tougher. Anyone thats interested in this info can google planet medal of honor and everything can be found on the main page.. biggrin.gif

Wouldn't you know it, my video card won't run the demo, even after I installed the latest drivers. sad.gif

I have a 6800GT, border line on the system requirements. SOOOOOO, its either a new video card for a 5 year old computer or a new computer if I want to run this game and all the other future games that will come down the pike.

Decision time.

AGP cards that will run the game respectable.....x1950gt 119.99 after rebate......newegg
7900gs 149.99 after rebate......7900gt 512mb 244.99

PCI Express .....best performance for the money...8800gts 320mb 269.99 after rebate

fastest performance 8800gtx-ultra but expensive...... On a side note, Nvidia will be introducing a new card in November that is rumored to have twice the processing power of the current 8800gtx and run cooler and use less energy, it will however be an expensive card as well ex: 550 to 630 range. The reason i mention this is because it will drive the price down on the current 8800's which should be cheaper in a few months.... To give everyone an example of what to expect as far as perfomance of the game goes. My system which consist of a Q6600 Quad core, 4gb of ram and one 8800 gtx runs the game at 1920x 1200 resolution with all the settings to max churns out about 85 to 100fps. Hope this helps you make a decision Mule..

I guess I should mentioned, I have a P4 2.8Ghz cpu (also border line for MOHA) and 1.5 Gig rd ram. A pretty good computer 5 years ago.

I've noticed a general slow down in speed as my hard drive 80gb gets cluttered with all my games and applications.

The video card is agp which is outdated by present day standards.

Hope this helps you make a decision Mule..

Thanks Abuse, I didn't find those cards in agp but did find a 7800GS, same as Shreds, just wondering why the low fps, shred?

As one of the reviews state "Quite possibly one of the best you can buy for AGP on the market today. If you are like me and are too cheap to upgrade to PCI-E, get it!" We'll see.

I'd love a new dual core cpu and i've done a lot research in the last few months. Still on the fence. Thanks for the help.

I don't know why the low FPS.

That card gets 200 FPS on COD2. Probably not the card.

Its playable anyway. I think when the game comes out there may be more options for tweaking.

One thing I have found out about how video cards operate is:

1. More memory is only good for higher resolutions....
2. DDR3 is way faster than DDR2, so a 256megDDR3,
is a better choice than 512megDDR2

One thing i forgot to mention was, while playing the Demo i brought up the task manager and noticed that the game was utilizing all 4 cpu cores at about 65 to 70%. With that being said it would probably max out a dual core setup. So the game appears to be multi threaded , the first one i have seen to take advantage of 4 cores. blink.gif

Wow, I may be lucky I'm getting 40 FPS with my AMD 3200.

Poor thing is probably maxed out.

After doing a couple of days research on video cards along with
what MS is considering doing with DX10, I settled on the cheapest
card I could find that would run MOH:A. I got a GeForce 7600GT
with 256megDDR3. At only $69.95, the card runs MOH:A demo
just fine. Also my frame rates and what I can now see in SH4
really makes the upgrade worthwhile. Frame rates were doubled from my old ATI X600 pro card running 256meg of std memory. Will wait
& see about the next DX10 upgrade (maybe for XP)....

Ya Jim, thats pretty much what I've found doing some research (Tom's hardware mostly), I'll probably pull the trigger on that card today if I can find one.

Where did you get yours?

I bought mine locally at MicroCenter. But is seems all the mail-order
places have it too. Prices generally run from $70. to $90.
