They all though he was down an out. Too old. Too slow. Beaten and bloodied. Down on the mat for so long, no one even considered he might get back up. But then on Sept. 18, 2007 the old warrior started to rise! Two plucky young fans, Mr. Shred and Burn and Blitz, wouldn't give up on the old dog even in it's darkest moment, and with their help Barb 24/7 lifted his head and fixed them with a steely glare as if to say "If you're still with me, then I'll keep fighting!" And with that Barb 24/7 rose from the mat, weak, tired, old and slow, but with cunning and skill, it started to fight again! It started by throwing punched blindly and inconsistently, but it was back! Barb 24/7 wasn't going down with one last kick at the can!

And so it was that more fans of Barb 24/7 saw the will of a champion, and the support started to swell. By Sept 22, 2007, not less then 25 great fans of Barb 24/7 had their great champion swinging hard, outpacing other servers for the first time in months. And it continues. Its feet are still unsteady, but each night Barb 24/7 start playing like it's young self, and it's KNOWLEDGEABLE fans, appreciating the skill and dedication that Barb 24/7 always required of itself and it's players, couldn't be more pleased. Old school MOB and non-MOB alike are coming back to support this grizzled warrior. Will the word spread? Will even more come to support the server of some of the greatest battles in MOB's public server history? It is hard to say. It may be that the resurrection of Barb 24/7 will be a passing moment in late Sept, 2007, but then again, perhaps this old dog still have enough kick to be a winner again. Only time will tell. But Barb 24/7 refused to drift lazily in history, and that is as it should be. A warrior should go down fighting!

Hope you enjoyed my little tale/story/anology, and hopefully see more familiar faces on the Barb server over the next few day. A reminder to Barb fans to download xfire if you haven't already (free program), and use it to try and page people to get the server rocking. wink.gif

Nice to see that the old Barb is on it's way up again!
But right now it is a bit to late at night for us in Europe. (like 3-6 am - ugh)
Keep up the good work!

I was back on MWBA last nite for the first time in about a month. I dont think I've ever been so frustrated or angry while playing COD lol.

Twice I was in R3 defending my plant during the closing moments and my teammates all sat on the top of the hill by R2 ignoring my screams for help! love-smiley-076.gif

Having played regular Barb the previous couple nights made me realize jus thow much better old-school is. Too many guys in that MWBA server who have no clue how to play BA. cool.gif

It's like you're reading my mind. I've been railing for a few weeks now that MWBA is merely a glorified TDM server now. The noobanov has allowed players to feel like they are skilled because they rack up tons of kills...yet only one base per round seems to get destroyed.

I'm VERY happy that the old Barbarossa is now back at full speed. And I'm REALLY happy that is filled with nearly 100% of skilled players! Talk about tight, tough matches! Excellent stuff!

I also hear that SgtClark3 finally got his rear end over to the good Barbarossa...'bout time. IPB Image

I take full credit for getting Clarke over to BARB last night!

I went into MW BAS and pulled him out by his ear!

He had the misconception that he had to delete a certain file before he could come into BARB server but I told him that all he had to do was quit COD:UO and restart it and all would be fine.

A lot of people have that misconception. I did the same thing the other day but forgot to tell people the glitch, only to see at least a couple from modern weapons TRY to join classic Barb (you can see them connecting), but fail to get in and quit after 2-3 tries. It really sucks. While the fix may be simple, what is truely simple is to be able to move from server to server without errors, and if people can't do that, they assume the error they are getting is too troublsome to deal with and move on.

Muchas gracias! Glad he found his way over...I'll be on tonite after taking a hiatus last night when I lost my FiOS connection after lightning struck my house! My poor kids were scared out of their wits...not to mention my wife and me! IPB Image

Just one of my TVs (the one in our living room). The TV in the basement seems to have survived. Lucky, i guess...could have been worse.

I work for an electrical supply company and we carry Square D and Phoenix Contact (their headquarters is in Harrisburg!) - they have surge protection for the home - you should look into it! If you have an electrical contractor, ask them about it - could save your TV and other appliances!
