just a question, but y does missionary not let you use the STOCK mohaa command called cl_mouseaccel? for you who don't know what that is, it's a command where u set a number to it, and it'll make it so the faster u move your mouse, the higher the sensitivity it for the time that you're moving ur mouse @ that speed. it's a perfectly legal stock command that's no more of a "hack" than changing your sensitivity. for those who don't understand, it basically means that if im moving the mouse really slowly, my sensitivity can be at one, but if i move it fast then my sensitivity (for that moment) may be 10-15... it's not a cheat at all yet missionary doesn't let you use it. y not?
for all ppl who wanna know what it is, start up mohaa (without missionary), make your sensitivity lower, and type in "cl_mouseaccel 3" in your console and try it out... it's NOT in any way shape or form a hack. This post has been edited by Too Exclusive: 02/23/05 4:16pm |

Log onto a server without Missionary, adjust your mouse speed and the next time you log on using Miss. you will be fine.

noooooo i mean the problem is it wont let me use mouseaccel... it wont startup MOHAA if mouseaccel isn't 0 which is gay cause mouse accel isn't a hack at all... it's just a mohaa variable just like sensitivity...

STOCK = playing mohaa without any "additives"... how is a built in mohaa variable not STOCK? godddaammmnnnn... you know where i "grew up" in the game community was with quake2... and in quake2 u were allowed to use EVERY AND ALL COMMANDS/VARIABLES that quake2 came with in any way u wanted and it wouldnt be considered cheating. as long as u didnt download any shit that gave u an advantage... i come here and i can't even use mouseaccel because it's now considered cheating... so y the fuck would the developers make variables like mouseaccel if it was only going to be considered cheating?????? that's wasting the developers' time and money... they build in these variables for us to use to find what's most confortable for us and then we're not allowed to use them... that'd be like going to war and being handed guns but being told we're not allowed to use them... does ANYONE see where im going with this? this is just something i've never understood about mohaa... and also mouseaccel takes skill to get used to anyway...

and if the developer made it to be used by us, is that not STOCK? i mean we buy the game STOCK and there's this thing in the STOCK game that we can't use... that's essentially saying we have to have the game MORE than STOCK... which is gay.

 The point is, nobody else using missionary needs that crap. Why do you. Missionary is imperfect. We all support it, yet we all know that it is imperfect. However, crap like what you are whining about is not a problem. Everyone else using missionary doesn't have a problem with it, why should you. But, if your problem is so great, please feel free to talk to Black Bart. Maybe he will correct it for you. Personally, I'm not going to worry about you getting your extra little kick from your mouse. Nobody here seems too worried about needing it to kick ass. I'm sorry if you need that extra help. it's not really "help"... it's something that everyone should play with and im surprised they dont. here's a good example of what it's useful for. i play with my sensitivity at 15 so i dont have to lift up the mouse so damn much. but at long ranges, if there's a really tiny target, it's IMPOSSIBLE for my crosshair to even go on that target because 1 move skips over the target completely, so the only way for me to aim at the target is making my sensitivity lower. understand? now if i have mouseaccel on i can make it so that my default sensitivity is one but if i move the mouse fast the sensitivity jumps high so i can also turn fast and what not. at least give me this: it's unfair to me if my sensitivity is so high that it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to put my crosshair over a target that's shooting at me.

It actually sounds quite useful. I'm not trying to drag you down, but the point is nobody with Miss uses it, cuz as you say Miss doesn't allow it. Now, the best players I know use Miss. Therefore, they don't use it. I say join the club.

yea... but then there's gotta be another way then... if ppl dont use mouse accel, how do they aim at small targets from long range? wouldn't their crosshairs skip over the target too? obviously there's something i'm missing...

ummm... you can always control how fast you move your hand. so... set your mouse sensitivity to low, and when you need to aim quickkly, move your hand quickly

yea but at sensitivity 1 you can move ur hand as fast as you want and it'll still move damn slow... try it. at that low sensitivity you'd have to move the mouse about 3 or 4 feet to turn 180 degrees. it doesnt matter how fast u move ur hand... understand?

I set mine a little higher. And if you need to move that fast, you're probably dead anyways. |
