I'm in need of a pair of headphones for serious gaming on my Mac. I've narrowed my choice down to the following but I'm finding it really difficult to choose between the Sennheiser PC165's, M145's (Mac version of the PC145) and the Plantronics DSP-500 PC Headset.

Does anyone know of any conflicts with the Mac OS on the PC designed head sets with the USB connection, Also, will they be ok to use with VOIP?

All advice welcome...

Plantronics is probably one of the biggest names in headphones but my experience with them was dismal.
1 set broke after a few months and the other had horrible noise cancellation properties for the mic.
My current cheapo Altec Lansing for %10 the cost has outperformed either of the much more expensive Plantronics I had.

My biggest recommendation would be not buy any headphones without being able to try them on for comfort 1st. If your a big time gamer you will probably be wearing these for hours at a time. I've read lots of reviews where the biggest complaint was comfort.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm leaning towards the Sennheisers, though I just need to find out if they're digital and if any software is needed!?

Screw that gaming headphones shit its a waste of money, use speakers or the $5 ones I bought...they are starting to fuck up after about 4 months and are Logitechs, but still they ruled all that time.

Sennheisers from NEwegg.com have done we wonders....dont hurt after hours of gaming...

But, the set i had before, altec lansing, was a cheap 16 dollars...for great sound quality...

My only complaint about them was that they didnt hold too well when I smashed them in anger. being spawn killed 12 times in a row on DV does it to ya sometimes...
