Caps vs Panthers, Free tix - woot - Options

Leonsis handed out free tix for tonite's game so I grabbed a few. Hope it's a good one, I love seeing Ovechkin live.... well, tv is cool too for the slow-mo replays. For those that don't know, Ted Leonsis is the majority owner for the Caps but he's also a founding CEO of AOL which is where I work. Bring on the AOL jokes, I can take them.

That's awesome.. I love Ovechkin. I saw him live one game against the Rangers and it seemed as if he was the only one on the ice for the Caps, he did everything. He backchecked and saved a breakaway, scored a goal, and assisted on another...

I have to agree. I had AOL almost 10 years ago, Cancelled it and 3 months after cancelling those bastards started taking money from my bank account, over drafting and causing me fines and penalties from the bank. AOL would do nothing about it, So needless to say I closed the bank account.

Yeah, I've heard alot of stories like the ones you've had. I've been here for 3 years and it's a great place to work. I don't use AOL except for my work email and occassionally AOL radio, which is really cool. From what I've seen here in the last years, the browser and service has gotten alot better and I can see why people pay $20 a month to use it.

We get nice perks and the work environment is more like a college.. meaning the dress code is relaxed. I worked at a law firm in DC a year before coming here and doing the suit and tie guy setup got old. We have release parties all the time which we refer to as "beer bashes" and they have alot of activities and musicians. Since we merged with Time/Warner, alot of those artists will play at the parties which is cool. Free movie premieres and ofcourse free Caps games are cool too. Blah blah blah, I'm writing a book about my job. LOL! If anyone needs a job where AOL is located, let me know. Can get you in plus it gives me a bonus!

Well... one really good point out of this was, Caps had 44 shots on goal (Ovechkin had atleast 10 shots, which is amazing) and Luongo stopped each and every one of them. So basically, we have a great shot in the olympics! LOL! It's not that the Caps played really really bad, Luongo stood on his head and his D kept everyone out of the slot and crease most of the night. I felt bad for Kolzig though, he didn't get much support from the team and he gave up a hat trick.

We're totally out of the playoffs so all my attention in the next few weeks is rooting for USA! Gonna see Gionta get some goals... he's my early prediction for USA MVP. Think USA might get bronze, I dont' see them beating Canada or Sweden... and Russia and Czech can still top anyone. GO USA!

The Czech's will win because they have about 6 Rangers on the team. Sweden will come in second because they have Henrik Lundqvist.

DC area where? I'm in Sterling/Dulles VA. I haven't gone to a Wizards game since... geez, Juwan Howard era. Actually, they might have still been the Bullets then.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Don and Mike or Stern. My commute to work is only 10-15 minutes long which basically equals to 3-6 NoFX or Social Distortion songs. I used to listen to them when I was younger, middle school on WAVA... morning zoo crap. Lately, if I do catch them I tend to listen but nothing too great. Fart jokes, strippers on the radio, and crank calls... would rather listen to cds or Sports980. Atleast Elliot, DC101, talks hockey alot and has the players on the show. I find that stuff interesting.
