Band of Brothers. Post 1995, but I agree that it's the best war movie out there. I'm looking forward to Flags of Our Fathers and the Pacific Theatre Band of Brothers. -------------------- ![]() |

There I have to agree. Its a good movie if you look at the shots, the weapons etc. the mayor drawback of the whole movie is that the russians dont speak russian..simple...but thats I think because it was made for western public.

im sorry undertow i was mistaken but ive always been under the impresion it was his first. Its cool, I was confused cuz I originally thought you meant Raiders was his first. allthough i think band of brothers is one of the best ever made (post 95) I agree. feezy -i liked enemy at the gates but couldnt get past the english accents-cant they make a movie more realistic?i can read. I liked this movie too. Come to think of it, It is kinda funny how the Russians had English accent's (U.K.) & Ed Harris as a nazi spoke perfect english (U.S.)..lol And they could have done without the gratuitous sex scene! -------------------- |

I saw SPR on opening night too. The entire first 15 minutes blew me away. I had heard all the stories from my grandfathers and their friends about WWII, down to the sounds and feeling they had. It wasn't till I saw that sequence that I kind of understood what they were going through. I just remember suddenly taking in a huge breath after the opening like I hadn't really breathed the whole time it was going on. The sound of the bullets hitting wet flesh and whizzing by... crazy stuff.

I didn't like We Were Soldiers too much. I found it almost unbelievable that officers would run down and chase a running enemy like that.... maybe some enlisted scrubs, but not officers.

I remember 1 Which was a secret operation to destroy Guns on Sicily. I think it was Called Guns of Navarone or something like that Had the guy from indiana jones in it! pretty good! Theres a bunch of versions though i dont remember the 1 i watched. Another good 1 is The Great Raid. Actually The movies called The guns on Navarone directed by J.Lee Tompson Nope....Guns OF Naverone http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/076782178...?v=glance&n=130 Then there was a nice sequel 19 years later with Harrison Ford as an Allied saboteur on a mission in Yugoslavia Force 10 from Naverone. Come on you other guys, stick to pre-1995 movies lol...... -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Cockleshell Heros is a WW2 film based on a true story about Royal Marine Major Stringer and Captian Thompson chose volunteers for an unknown job. They trained them for a year ,then embarked them on a canoe invasion of an enemy-held port in France for the purpose of blowing up giant German Battleships.Only 2 made it back to England with help from French Resistance. At the beginning of the film ,theres an interview with the only surviving member left today.
One to watch for accueracy. -------------------- |

We Were Soldiers too much. I thought that was an awesome movie...more (not more realistic) but closer than the other Vietnam movies -------------------- |
