in response to hamma and cross I can toss anything down there and a certian spot on the stairs WILL NOT KILL YOU...
I do this very often, there is a spot in the basement (depending on the bounce of the satchel) will not kill the person standing at the farthest point in the basement. now this being said back on the first 24/7 cassino I played on I blew a german P4 up with a nade I have gotten hit with a tank shell and only recieved 10% damage, shot a guy through a wall and killed him, shot through black windows with a rifle and got a head shot, took 2 kv1's on barb with no damage, today took a rocket to the side of the jeep while on the mg and took no damage to me or the jeep... same token, been shot across the map and killed with a pistol round to the head. soooooo....... |

I love shelling the german side from across the map. A good way to give the present of random chaos to your dearest enemy. Almost as much fun as dropping arty on a german tank column as they form up and move out. --------------------   |

We know about the safety of the stairs. What we want to know is where in the basement (not the stairs) someone can go to live through a satchel dropped down the chimney. We haven't found that spot. |

it all depends on the bounce of the satchel... I will google a bit to see were that safe spot is... also know its NOT invinsible, just dont take all ur life.

If the satchel is dropped downstairs in a corner and it's not safe for me to go upstairs, I just run to the opposite corner. Bonus points if you manage to put one of the shelf posts between you and the satchel. Standing up also helps (the less the satchel can see of you the better).
Usually escape with about 5% of life left, which is enough to defuse. But it's a gamble. Going to the stairs is only required when the satchel is more then a bodylength away from a corner. -------------------- |
