I use the two thumb buttons on my mouse. Been doing it that way since MOH:AA. The mouse I have is the Logitech MX 510 (now the MX518). I've wanted to upgrade to a new mouse for a while, but none of Logitech's new high end gaming mice have two thumb buttons, they only have one. I have enough buttons to press with my left hand, so I try to do as much as I can with my mouse.

i tried both of these and it is very un comfortable. my problem is this, since i started shooters i use tab to prone ,caps lock to crouch, shift to bash and e to pick up items, ive never had to use lean ,guess i formed bad habits as about %90 of the time im missing the bash . blk ,what do you use to throw nades ?

Middle click throws a nade. Scroll up bashes, scroll down changes weapon. Left and right click are normal, and the two thumb buttons lean.

Hey Undead you use the G7 now right?

I set mine up like this:

thumb button bash/sniper steady, scroll up or down change weapon, pressing the wheel left is prone so i can shoot and go prone at same time, and right is grenade that frees up my left hand a bit to not be so overburdened... you could use the wheel up to do one function i.e. change weapon and wheel down to toggle between crouch and standing... just a thought usually crouching is not a hurried function it's to walk quietly etc where as prone is for me and i want it easy... i have a hard time with the keys on the lower row of the keyboard and end up hitting the wrong one if i make one crouch and the other prone.... so i make x and c crouch... you could get a nostromo n52 that has all sorts of buttons and can be quite helpful if you get use to it... I think blk, mike and the slime formerly known as krazed all use it quite well...

Yeah I've got an n52. After about a week you will get used to it, and then you'll wonder how you ever played without it.

i had the mx518 ,went to the g7 and to be honest,i didnt like it. for some reason ,for a mouse ,i prefer non wireless as its quicker and more response . with the 518 and g7 turned all the way up,518 was the man ,mo though . thats interesting and something i never thought of for bash and would be alot easier to hit than shift.

in u/o none of the buttons work so i always used pushing the wheel in to go back to original weapon.this will come in handy for cod2 though, thanks alot guys smile.gif .

it's all about what is comfortable for you.... and what is important to you. Just remember you can program each of those functions on the wheel (up, down, left, right, and pushing it straight down) to different actions. This can free up your left hand some so there's no so much going on. You could even lean left and right with the tilt on the wheel. It would take some getting use to but might be effective.... I can't do the pushing the wheel straight down... I end up changing weapons so I leave it unbound.

I use the Q and E.
Dont really use em that much though, if i think there's someone around a corner then i'll just jump and shoot.
You normally miss the things right in front of you more then those things in hard cover. wink.gif
