Be sure to use some of Missionaries features. Under Tool/Help you will find a feature called Shutdown Processes. this will bring up a screen and tell you what you are running. Just double click on the processes you want to shut down while you play and it will shut them down. upon exiting Missionary they will start back up.
This will stop alot of most ppls lag. If not do the world famous MSCONFIG. to shut down unwanted processes running in the background. also I have found that Teamspeak couses unwanted processer spikes that couse lag.We are addressing that issue. -^IW^- DSJONES |

I can confirm that TS is causing my Missionary lag problems. Without it, I'm good, with it, I get a general bit of lag.

reinstall of mohaa is at best a last resort.
In missionary you can find diagnostic tools that can help with most or all problems. under ...tools/help... go to tools, here you will find tune-up.....check my mohaa...test files...run test/diagnostic report......and check my configs... For the most part ppl have to clean out there mohaa directory.there are items in there that dont need to be there. ppl need to clean out there mohaa main...if you have pk3's that you haven't used in months or not anymore delete them or at least make a pk3 file and store them there. this will allow missionary to scan less files, hence faster load. -^IW^- DSJONES |

I hear alot of people complaining lately about the lag when running Missionary. I too was experiencing the same lag but think that I have finally gotten it licked. A few tips:
1. You must EXCLUDE the following directories/files from being scanned by your anti-virus software: (This is not really a tip, it is MANDATORY) C:\Missionary - Directory C:\Program Files\EA Games\MOHAA - Directory (Or the path to your MOHAA) C:\Missionary\Missionary.exe For those of you wondering why you need to exclude the above directories/files, Because of the efforts the cheaters put forth, Missionary isencrypted. To an Anti Virus thiss appears as threats so they fight to stop them. It is important that you complete these steps, even if you are not experiencing a problem now, because with the next release you could 2. Before starting Missionary I ALWAYS disable my antivirus software. You still need to do the above steps as some AV programs are not really disabled when you select the disable option. 3. Make sure that you do not have any unecessary applications running. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and take a look at your applications and processes... are they needed? What programs are running in the background? Click Start -> Run -> type MSCONFIG -> click on STARTUP and take a look at what programs are starting when Windows starts. Are the all needed? Alot of software that you install puts a lot of garbage in STARTUP. 5. What services do you have running that you may not need? To check your services click Start -> Type RUN -> Type services.msc. You will be presented with a list of services. An EXCELLENT website to help you determine what services are needed is located here: http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm Changing services settings can be just as dangerous as editing the registry. Have current -tested- backups of your system/data and understand how to restore them if something goes terribly wrong. 6. Another thing I have tried and it seems to help is after you run Missionary, before connecting to the server, hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete -> Click on the processes tab -> look for MISSIONARY.EXE and Right-Click on it. Select Set Priority and then select REALTIME. The above steps have worked for me. YMMV -------------------- |

I've tried the "shutdown processes" before, and nothing shows up in the window. I've only recently had lag problems, but I just took care of some ad and spy ware issues, and haven't tryied miss. since then. Anyway, the point is, I've never had anything come up in the shutdown help screen... so what gives?

For those that do not know, Missionary has a built in option to run it at a higher priority. This has helped me tremendously with my lag issues.

Hmmm... processes are done on the players computer... I don't believe any server changes would be needed.

Just posting this for some general info. For the past few weeks, I have been using Missionary every time I play the game, as before it was just a certain server measure. I was wondering If anyone has been having fps problems while running Missionary? I have a great ping of around 20-40 every round but can't get past the fps lag in certain maps, ie DV, Southern France, and Algiers. My ATI Radeon 9000 Pro(I believe, its a couple years old by now) has worked like a charm. Never a problem, I have sufficient air flow in the case, etc... I have also been shutting down all programs in the missionary tools menu and before loading missionary. The only things that are usually running are my game, miss., and vent. My question is this:
What would cause my game to go from 80-100 fps to 20-40 fps just by using missionary. I do believe it's Missionary related because it started only when I run the Missionary Program. But your guess is as good as mine. Anyone have any good tips or ideas on what would help? Thanks in advance. -------------------- |

Have you made any changes to your system lately, like upgrade your video drivers?
