Thought it was a hell of a fight . Even though a most people dislike Faber ,i think you gotta hand it to him for making it 5 rounds against Brown with one , possibly 2 broken hands.

Personally I like Faber because he always puts on a good fight. I thought he was going to win the rematch. If you saw the original Faber/Brown fight, I think most people would agree Brown won from a lucky strike. Not taking anything away from Brown, the guy is a total bad ass. I thought it was pretty interesting after the 1st fight, Faber was all smilies while giving his post fight interview while Brown was grimacing in pain during the official announcement an then had to lean on his corner men to make it back to his room. Brown wasn't exhausted, he was hurt, probably from the knee he took at 3:20. If Brown hadn't landed that lucky shot 30 seconds later, I'm confident he would have lost.
Brown vs. Faber II was a great fight. Over the last two months I've started watching a lot of WEC. I've been extremely impressed by the percentage of good fights, more than what you see at the UFC. For those that haven't seen it, it's all free on the versus channel. Get it while you can because Zuffa plans to move the big fights to PPV. Some people don't care for the lighter weight divisions like those in WEC but I find their fights much more active and technical than the heavier UFC divisions. I know there are a few fight fans lurking the forum. Here is something totally different which may interest a few of you. Another growing fight sport is "World Combat League". This was invented an promoted by Chuck Norris. Before you let that turn you off, just remember before he was the great gay Texas Ranger, he was one of the top fighters in the world for 6 years an still has one of the best records in Karate history. Some of what makes the WCL so different 1) It's team based , currently 8 teams but quickly expanding. 2) The fights are similar to normal partial contact point fights, the big difference being it's full contact. 3) Two rounds of 3 minutes with a long break in between 4) Zero grappling. It has more in common with kickboxing than MMA, but more intense. Most events are a highlight reel of knockouts Here are few examples of how intense the fights are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKNxKWQqyqs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muy7tFeW61M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kdw0I62WcF4 If you're interesting in seeing more. Amazon has the 1st season on sale for only $10 with free shipping http://www.amazon.com/Chuck-Norris-Present...8196&sr=8-1 Cheap entertainment if you want to see some highly techincial fighting with lots of brutal knockouts. |

Wow
I'm impressed Faber even finished the fight. Broken hands happen all the time but they are usually small hairline fractures. His was a double and displaced, just short of a full compound fracture with the bones tearing through the skin. Pics where posted on his page. http://twitpic.com/6w0f4 http://twitpic.com/6w0e7 http://twitpic.com/6w0i8 I'm getting a huge laugh out of some of the Faber haters on the MMA forums. Bitching about him using his broken hand as an excuse for losing. What a bunch of pussies, they probably couldn't type their post with a broken hand but think they have a right to criticize Faber for bringing up his broken hand in the post fight interview. |

When the fight was over his right hand was like the size of my hand,i still think he had issues with the left too . the first and second fight Faber simply cannot throw Brown around like all the other guys hes fought, this guy has to much power all together. I did think he had him with that choke though, gonna be tough to hold it with fd up hands though-great fight!! i only work sun nights and it was cool to see people watch it ,then wait for the replay again 2 hours later-free.

Good fight. My hats off to Faber for finishing the fight with what must have been some excruciating pain. That hand looked real bad after the fight.
So is Mike Brown now the best pound for pound fighter in MMA now? -------------------- Many trusted dealers have affordable hovercraft sales offers in Australia.

Not even close. The current P4P fighter in the WEC would be Jose Aldo.

I don't get to see much of WCL but it reminds me of a combination of the old IFL (team style) and K-1 (fight style).
