LOL, it's a rifle, not an smg (small machine gun). If you're having to reload all the time, you're trying to use it as an smg. I'm getting loads of complaints, people asking that it be a single-shot.

It's a beast. Sounds like she's got people in both camps on it. She knows where I stand smile.gif

I'd play there much more if it was single shot I'll put it that way... or at least had recoil. Something.... but I'm a noob at the game and don't know what to look for yet to avoid it. Perhaps I'll learn soon enough...

I don't know the ins and outs of coding a mod but wouldn't a good solution for the draganov be to have a low accuracy when not aiming down the scope so that all those people that run around with it as a smg would miss more often when using it as a close combat weapon?

If the goal is to keep players on the server, then the weapons mod has to go to what pulls players to it. In cod and coduo TDM, it's been guns that are super-easy to kill with.

Take a look at the server stats over at game-monitor.com ... any servers that have stock or more realistic weapons are somewhere between getting fewer players to being downright empty.

Right now, as I write this, the server that has stolen the dragunov sniper rifle out of my weapons mod (*cough FS cough*)and given it a 25-bullet clip has suddenly attracted a large portion of mwcm's players.

Can you imagine a dragunov sniper rifle, with a 25-bullet clip??? I mean, why use anything else in that case?

But, sure enough, you look on their server at any given moment, and you'll find players there who had been regulars on mwcm for the longest time.

So, even though I'm considering making the dragunov a single-shot, in today's age, that's kinda going backwards, if we're trying to attract more players.

I agree 100% with your analysis Steel.

You wanna a see a quick spike in players on mwcm. Tweak a flamer thrower so it shoots 4 times farther. They'll be lining up!
