Guys, I need help. I keep getting a communication failure for my pb exe.b driver. I googled it and check PB website, but some of the fixes are a little to adavanced for me. I checked my firewall (McAfee) and the B exe has full access. Im no computer guru, so go easy on me please.

Here is the best way to check to see what the problem is and hopefully fix it if possible.

Down load this test program from EvenBalance
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe

This program will allow you verify if
PnkBstrB.exe
PnkBstrA.exe
Are working properly and have the require access.
Run the test 1st, you should get all green messages.

The other common issue is a problem with background service these two problems require to run.
The service could either be disabled or corrupted.
If the problem is caused by a disabled or corrupted service, this program also offers the ability to
uninstall/reinstall the require service.

Let me know if it fixes your problem.

Robert, I owe you big time buddy. It's working good so far. Thanks! If you ever get a speeding ticket in Indiana, let me know. I will return the favor.

He is also very, very clever and that cleverness so often goes unnoticed.

I've just noticed another of his clever fixes. We aren't getting a lot of posts here now a days. I keep a link to the site that searches for new posts (I bookmarked the "View New Posts" link above). It used to be, before His Cleverness got cleverer, that this would often display the hideous, "not found" screen. Now, we are politely given the link to the last post we read.

I say we all stand and salute His Cleverness!

Yep that problem use to drive me nuts.
Took 2 minutes on google to find the problem and solution.
I never understood why Mike or her highness didn't bother to fix it.
After all, according to Steel, MOB practically begged her to join for her vast computer/technical knowledge.
Strangely, I didn't feel the need to point out the fix for this since the last time I tried to help them out with a forum issue they threw my help back in my face. Not only that, they somehow managed to turn my help into proof I was a trouble maker.
Ah what a tangled web we weave......

Another trick that has worked for me in the past is disabling PunkBuster Security. Note, you are not disabling the security on the map server - you're disabling it on your computer. This allows your computer to receive packets that it might be denying - which kicks you off of the server because PB thinks you're using hacks.

While connected to the server that you trust (A {MOB} server no doubt!), enter the console by pressing the Tilda (~) key. Then enter this command: "/pb_security 0"

This will disable your PB security for old updates on the server - and usually fixes the problem. You can turn the security back on by entering 0 instead of 1 in that same command.

Hope that helps some other reader/gamers!
