1. Make sure the date and time of your computer are correct.

i don't have any form of options on my mcafee
=-/ but i tried turning mcafee completely off and it still kicked me -------------------- |

It's possible there are no advanced options in the free version. As for "turning it off" you can never really "turn off" an anti-virus program unless you uninstall it. You can disable them but usually they're still resident lurking in the background. -------------------- |
