'Twas the night before Detroit, when all through the town,
Steeler's fans were ready for the Hawks to go down;

The flags and banners were all hung with care,
All Over Detroit, with the Steelers there;

The players were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Super Bowl danced in their heads;

With Cowher in charge, I had a night cap,
And settled down for one more night's nap;

When up at Motor City there arose such a clatter,
Seahawks fans wondered just what was the matter;

For at the stadium there was a great flash,
Someone had entered with no ticket, no cash;

The moon on the breast of the ice and the snow,
Gave the luster of mid-day to the man standing below;

When what to their wondering eyes should appear,
Who this man was, it became quite clear;

The smoke from his cigar made the air gloomy,
But they knew in a moment that it was Art Rooney;

He held the team roster, the plan of attack,
Big Ben to Hines Ward or the Bus in the back;

He saw in the defense a curtain of steel,
If they can't sack Hasselbeck then nobody will;

Troy will cover the field, he'll be everywhere,
I'm telling you 'Hawks, you better beware;

His long locks of hair will flow in the breeze,
He'll catch Matt's passes with the greatest of ease;

Mr. Rooney walked the sideline; he paced to and fro,
He wore white and gold from his head to his toe;

A terrible towel he held oh so tight,
As he looked to the heavens on that cold Detroit night;

Then the words that he spoke left all feeling quite numb,
Lord get us Home to Pittsburgh and my one for the thumb!!!

Hope sees the Invisible, Feels the Intangible, Accomplishes the
Impossible!!

I liked that article. The one thing that I could see killing Pittsburgh is their gloating and possibly taking Seattle for granted if they take an early lead. You guys remember a few years ago... geesh, couple years ago, Pitt was up against Baltimore for the AFC championship game. Well, the week before the game, all the Steelers were booking rooms and dinner reservations for their family at the Superbowl. The whole week they just talked about how great it'll be to go to the Superbowl. Then they lose to the Ravens and Baltimore goes to the SB instead. The Steelers have had a tendancy to do stupid things like that and I could see them forcing plays or the defense making a dumb play for a fancy interception instead of just playing the ball or the tackle. They could kill themselves very easily and I hope it doesn't happen.

Note to Cowher, don't give Bettis the ball outside of the 8 yd line.

One positive note for the Steelers is that they only live 6 hours away from Detroit. All over Detroit and Windsor are Steeler fans..wearing there jerseys and gloating. I am sure due to the close proximity they will have alot more fans attending the game....although the tickets are going for thousands of dollars now.

See yea on game night.....Just food for thought.....

I remember seeing how the tickets for teh Superbowl work...

1/4 of the seating goes to all the NFL teams and players.

1/4 goes to the hometown, probably like radio stations and bigwigs.

1/4 goes to the players and personel of the teams playing.

1/4 goes to public.

I think that's how it works... maybe someone will correct me.
