Anywho, sv_pure is a check program designed to compare files. When its enabled on the server it compares a players pk3 files against its own to determine if they are the same.

Which means you have to have the exact same pk3 files on your machine as the server has. That also means crosshairs, scopes, blood mods, etc... All of the afore mentioned mods are pk3 files so the server has to have them if you want to use them. Now since there are so many mods out there, I would almost guarantee that if a server has sv_pure on that there wont be any mods allowed. Thats just so that there arent 50 mods added to the server so everyone can join, and thus if you can have a mod it would defeat the purpose of sv_pure.

And keep in mind that sv_pure also checks pk3 file size, not just the name of the pk3 file. So if you modified the pk3 file, then you will have to get the original one back via a re-install.

Also keep in mind that maps are pk3 files. So you will have to get rid of any custom maps you have also.

My suggestion to you is if you want to join a sv_pure enabled server, that you create a new folder in the MOHAA folder. NOT in MAIN or MAINTA. Name it Mods or something and then put all of your mods in there until your done playing. Sv_pure doesnt check the MOHAA folder, so you will be ok putting your mods there.

I hope this gives you a better idea of how sv_pure works. Enjoy!
