Now last time I looked didn't notice that smg or mg had zoom feature. Was curious how a certain player kept killin so easy on Frag n' Rock so I spectated. Be damned player was zooming and I'm pretty sure he was using either a smg or mg. I know what a rifle looks like btw. Won't bother posting users moniker but if admin are curious thay can drop reply. One problem I didn't get screen capture as my ping went over 160 and I lost connection.

That's a new one on me! I'll bet that was a real trick, especially on a cheat free server.

Mr Mustard please describe this a bit more and give me some details. I will tell you that all weapons have 2 means of fire and most of them are coded to have the second means of fire as bash. The nonscoped guns could theoretically be programmed to zoom but weapons settings are always and have always been server side so someone figuring out how to do this client side would truely be remarkable programming.

I will scan the cheat sites and see if I can come up with anything but this sounds nearly impossible to do especially since they would also have to make it a non pk3 file, and without changing the honesty config.

One thing for all to note. I DO have in my weapons mod the switch turned on that give EVERY weapon user the binoculars. It has been that way for some time and I do know that if you spectate someone with binos on they look like scoping. I am not saying that is what you saw but it is possible.

Well, first you put them up to your eyes.....look through them, and there should be a little nobby thingy at the top to adjust it to make it more clear....lol! No...they come up for me when I scroll through my weapons with my scroll wheel.

Per the default key mappings, binos are either "6" or "7", I forget which. I sometimes accidentally hit them when I'm going for a grenade in the hit of battle. Hence, I rarely use grenades on the run. Time to work on re-mapping my keys.... rolleyes.gif

Well didn't now you could use binoculars as secondary. Therefore this may have been what I saw. Furthermore what i saw looked like a zoom in function, the area of view i witnessed was enlarged at a scale of 2:1 approx. Just thought binoculars restricted your view and you could only see through the two round windows. My apology for raising what appears a non-issue.

Well you still may be correct so keep an eye out since I am only offering a POSSIBLE to what you saw. To answer your last question when you spectate you do not always see the blacked out area that the actual player sees. I don't know why this is but it's another EA glitch. The actual player however will always see the smaller area so don't worry about that.
