Modern weapons coduo, private slots Options

Just an FYI, the major complaint the coduo Modern Weapons, Custom Maps server got since I started it in January was that there were too few slots. (I first started it as a 20-slot server, then later upgraded to 24).



Now that we traded the ventrilo that came with it for 2 extra slots, making it a 26-slot server, and Mike made 4 slots private, that leaves only 22 slots for non-{MOB} players. The regular players on the server are now complaining about this like mad. And I can tell from the graphs I have auto-generated from game-monitor, that {MOB} isn't actually using the 4 private slots. As a result, the server has dropped already from its server ranking, which makes me kinda sad.



I know it's not my place to tell ya what to do with the server now that you own it. But please, if you play on that server, please, please, use your private slots unless they are full. Nobody but {MOB} members can get in once the server hits 22 players. Think of the poor [FS] members who can no longer get into the server they've played on for so long.

I belive that ,if no MOB is using them,then remove them and make it back to 26 "normal" slots.

Thanks for passing this on. Compounding the problem is that we have just changed the private slot password on all the servers and people are in transition. So, for the near term, the private slots on Modern Weapons will be turned off. This will mean that the public slots will be at 26 which is two more than when MOB took over the server. It will be interesting to see if it will remain full at that level.

Steel: the config has been changed to reflect above but of course we need to reset the server. I guess we can both watch for a good time to do it.

Thanks a bunch! Oddly enough, I just checked and the server was empty. HUH??? I've never seen the server empty at this time of day! Anyway, I stopped/restarted it to envoke the config change.

I'll just point out that 2 reserved slots would make perfect sense, since that's the same amount of slots as before for those who used the server, but then two reserve slots for MOB members who do want to play, which will probably pick up over time.



Also, the former clan guys could come over to our forums and start contributing here, and become MOBs themselves, right?

Mike increased this to a 30-slot server, as of this morning. So far, it hasn't been full yet. But looks like it might get full within the hour!!!!

BTW, the [FS] guys are coming here & registering. And some have asked to join. But of course, it takes time to get accepted.
