This particular fish, I had a beer in my right hand and the fishing rod in the other. This Bull Stingray almost jerked the rod out of my hand. But I held tight, and never eeeeeever let my beer down. Just for all that wanted to know. NO BEER WAS WASTED WHILE I CAUGHT THIS MONSTER. hehe and he was released back into the ocean. laugh.gif user posted image

I am a avid diver and actually a SCUBA diving Instructor who LOVES sushi, but have to tell you that any type of Ray (bat ray, sting ray, etc.) tastes like ASS!

Seabass, rockfish, and other close to shore fish make GREAT tacos!

Hehe, we were not there for the Rays we were there for the monster Red Drum. There were a few 45inchers caught. The biggest was a 52incher. These are beautiful fish. You cant keep the small or large ones. Just the 18 inchers to 28 inchers. I think they eat these Ray things in Japan and use the skin for boots. We caught flounder and some big Blues but not many drum. sad.gif

You ever watch "The Iron Chef?" They had an episode where the two chef's theme ingredient was rays. Supposedly, the only thing edible are the wings. Watching them gut the thing though sure sent my daughter out of the room in a hurry. Not as fast as the episode with the live octopus, though....

The BEST is going diving with my buddies and Spearfishing for Halibut next to the HMCS YUKON they sunk two summers ago in San Diego.

Before we surface, we hand pick some Lobsters..............

..........as soon as we get home, the BBQ gets fired up and we crack open a few cold ones!

For some reason after SCUBA diving I CRAVE seafood!

BTW:

The YUKON is a retired CANADIAN battleship.......they dont fight anyone...y have a ship!

The Ship sank on its own and fell on its side! They cut too many holes and the surf was too high! Seriously
