Hi,
I am playing on the Tuchola Forest Map and the server keeps doing server disconnection and interuption every five minutes. It's happening to everyone on the server. Apparently people are saying they were on stocks earlier and it was happening there too... so they all left. Now the Tuchola Forest just went from 24 players to 4. Complaints that people were leaving as the constant interuption was unbearable to play with. Did you try to stop the servers and do a restart?

Yep, Rommel came and did it twice...it continued to occur every 2 minutes. Everyone left to go play barb...had about 18 on server then it started happening every 2 mins... almost like when someone is joining or coming it. IT"S BRUTAL!!!

As those of you that were there during the test know, this is a PB problem. Barb PB has been disabled temporarily until the problem is resolved.

I noticed some server interuptions on the COD2 tdm server yesterday as well although not as bothersome as what you guys experienced. Clanservers may have a problem of some sort.

Hopefully, the problems have fixed themselves and we'll have smooth gaming tonight. However, we heard from players coming into our servers that other servers seemingly weren't affected. We found several other servers that had PB enabled but had no CI.
We couldn't possibly have played our match on our practice server last night because of the issue. Fortunately, we were able to play on our opponent's server because they weren't having problems with Connection Interrupt. If this had been a universal Punkbuster issue, I wouldn't think we would have been able to have find any server for our match. Was this a PB issue that just affected our servers? |

Druid and I are both looking into the problem (more details listed in the MOB private area).
Hamma & Canuck: I assume that you put the practice server in the PAM mode which forces the pb config to the common one used by TWL. And that you saw the problem in that mode. Can you confirm that? Old Man Mike |

Old Man Mike Exactly. When I saw that you were addressing the problem, I fired up the practice server well ahead of the match and booted up PAM mode to see how it would respond. I encountered a Connection Interrupt when I was the only one there. Stocks was empty so I rebooted it and soon encountered the very same problem. I noticed a clear pattern of choking twice, roughly every two minutes. I wondered about the forced screenshot issue that came up a while back, but I believe you turned that off. CZ's server was8.9.25.70:28961 and they had booted into PAM mode prior to our arrival. Our match took place without so much as a hiccup. Thanks for devoting so much time to this issue, Mike. |

We did a little investigation tonight and discovered that we could make the Connection Interrupt happen by simply having someone connect to the server. The subsequent hang would cause a CI on both the GFM server and Stock at the very same time. The same thing would happen if someone left the server, however, the problem wouldn't happen unless an undetermined amount of time had elapsed between CI's.
... or was it Frontline ... some_help and Snot will know because they were the ones on the other server. This post has been edited by HammaTime: 03/13/07 11:32pm |
