Two years ago today, this tiny dog lost everything in New Orleans, during the Katrina hurricane.
![]() A couple of months later, he was rescued, starving, begging for handouts, caked with dried mud and crud, and nearly eaten alive by insects of all sorts. He wound up in a Houston animal shelter. We saw his photo, fell in love, and trekked over to adopt him. We spent the first year he was with us combing the internet, searching for his owner(s), if still alive, to no avail. We named him Lucky Louie, "Lucky" because he made it out alive and into a good home, and "Louie" is short for Louisiana, his former state. He's such a lovable little fella, that I know that if his owners made it through the hurricane, they must still grieve the loss of him. And on today, the 2nd anniversary of the hurricane, our hearts go out to them. -------------------- [img][/img]
