Folks this is a little before my time.
However the music and hot rods reminded me of the days I played with my Hots wheels and Arrora race track. So sit back and grab a cup of MOB and enjoy this little flick.Back to the Past I think it will be enjoyed by Young and old alike. Enjoy...http://oldfortyfives.com/CarsWeDrove.htm "T.M." http://oldfortyfives.com/CarsWeDrove.htm There you go -------------------- ![]() |

If I had the money ,and one was for sale ,as they only made 1200 or so (1964 - 65)..then it would have to be an Austin Martin DB5.......
Last time Ichecke dthey were going for around $150,000.00 for a beat up one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- |

My 3 fastest cars were a 1960 Chev Bel-Air 2 -door HD with 348,
3 carbs and Isky cam. After that engine blew (bad piston install) I got a 1962 Chev 409 with Jardine headers & 4.88 rear. I beat every car I raced with it. Only 2 stuck with me to the quarter mile. (327 full-race vette & 421 alum body Pontiac set up by autoshop) The only car every to beat me was a 426 HEMI aluminum body Plymouth with auto trans. (I had close-ratio 4-speed). I stayed with him till 60mph but the auto trans he had was too quick in the shifts. My last car was a Dodge Dart Swinger 340 that was very fast for the engine size. Those were the great days of drag racing. Althought I had about $9000. invested in those cars, their value today would be about $125,000. My parents had a turquoise 1959 T-bird that they traded in for the 1961... which became my car until it was stolen in 1971 from right in front of our house sometime between 1-6 am on a Monday morning... I'll never forget my father knocking on my bedroom door to ask me if I "loaned" the T-bird to one of my friends... I remember how foolishly I ran outside the front door to see if it was there in my PJ's... Youth is wasted on the young...lol
They bought me a used 1970 T-bird gold metallic with a white Landau top (it was gorgeous) but never replaced in my heart the love of th 61' T-bird.... This was my graduation present.... this color 1961 T-Bird -------------------- |

I'm not even in your guys ball park when it comes to real hot rods such as the many stated above.Man
those are beauts... sniff ...sniff.... I guess the only one I owned that may fall into that catagory..Was..Ta..Da.. My frist car a bright red 1968 Volkswagon.4 on the floor baby.. It did a 60 min mile and had a sowing machine engine..And lets not forget the cool running boards and it even had a hand cranking moon roof.Air conditioning N/A. My most memorable time i had with it was when i brought it up state to a friends dairy farm and drove it through a cornfield smashed out of my mind. If his uncle had caught me doing that in his field....forget about it.To make things worse he was also Justice of the Peace..I would have done hard time for sure...LOL..
