after playing a couple other servers today ,i simply cannot stand the airstrikes and helios ! can we be different from all the rest of the servers out there and make it more difficult to get them?like maybe 10 kills for airstrikes and 13 for helios?i find im running for cover more than actually fighting and enjoying the battles.

From what I heard they are not allowed in TWL, might be something to think about.

It's always good when you call them, but now when you're killed by them...lol

One thing that drives me insane is that even when it's called by your own team the air strikes disrupt you. They shake the entire world and make it where if you are trying to shoot someone at a distance you can forget it. I'm all for taking them off since they are not allowed in TWL.

I dont mind the airstrike - as it is kinda like getting arty in UO (although you can drop it anywhere on the map). However, the chopper is a real pain in the ass.

Usually you're going to get an easy 2 kills from your airstrike which automatically gives you the Heli. I think the airstrike should be 5 kills, and the chopper should probably be after 10. Force the player to work just a bit harder before getting the helicopter...

i would like to see them removed at least from the hardcore and 7v7 servers.

I agree that they are a little too easy but a couple of points to consider:
(1) I see that the Heli's don't last long as people really work together to get rid of them quickly.
(2) Wouldn't that make the server "modded" and would reset ranks, etc for play on that server? I don't know the particulars but that might change your access to perks/weapons.

While the Helicopter and Arty can be removed, changing the threshold would make the server a non-ranked server.

I have also noticed how quickly some players work to bring down the copter. That is a good thing. I just wish points were awarded for doing it. That would really take care of the problem.

well for instance ten minutes ago on our tdm ,my whole team on bog was sniping and the last 5 or ten minutes was nothing but spawn die ,heli ,spawn die airstrike ,the best is when the heli gets you then you get killed twice on the same airstrike biggrin.gif .

How about Killcam? That would allow you to delay your respawn. I've seen some discussion about killcam pros and cons:

Pros:
- Keeps the gameplay fresh by keeping players moving and from camping in the same spots.
- Increases the competition level in the game. Newer players learn faster.
- Hackers discouraged because you see how you died

Cons:
- players on one side with voice comm can relay where they were shot from to their teammates.
- "Good" positions are given away.
- You have to hit "F" key to quickly respawn.

I must be living in an alternate universe where nobody helps bring down the heli. I've died 4-5 times all the while asking everyone to please shoot the heli a few times. Meanwhile I'm the only one emptying my clip into the copter which blasts me over and over. A pity that it changes the server to unranked. Guess that kills that idea. Could care less about the killcam. I'll just avoid playing on Goodfellas.

I disagree buddy. The airstrike is almost impossible to survive unless you are inside a building, but it is great fun to use a LMG or a heavy assault rifle to take down a chopper by hitting it's tale.

im not trying to get every one riled up,i was only wondering if there was a way to push the airstrikes up to 10 kills and heli to 13,to make it more of a challenge to get them . i think the gameplay is awesome but it seems right when your getting into the game here comes constant airstrikes and helio attacks .im starting to see people complaining about it alot more and then theres the ones who get so frustrated they just try to get banned.



as mike said,theres no way to push the kills up on the strikes so hopefully theres a solution.

Airstrikes and Helos are part of the game and should not be removed (hell ....if we get rid of them what about the 203 or the whole rank system ,cus 1 guy has better gun then me ?) ,as thats like saying get rid of Tanks and Arty in UO......



As for TWL thats something different ..I.E comp play...

Well if I am on, I focus on getting rid of the coptors. I even have a class defined just for that purpose (LMG, RPGs, etc).
