So they're going to tax AIG (and other bailout recipients) %90 of the bonus amount ? most of these companies are behind on their taxes already.

I agree, it's completely stupid.
The people who voted for the bailout are just as much to blame. All this really amounts to is the politicians taking predictable steps to deflect any outrage over them giving away tax payer money with zero knowledge how it will be used. Let's assume the government gets this money back via extreme taxation, the politicians will only turn around an spend it on their next pork project. |

Yep 6 months. I think he's the 3rd CEO in little over 2 years.
Funny thing is one of the former CEO's, Greenberg who is considered by many to be the one to blame for the meltdown because he was behind the move to the risky credit deal and was forced out in 2005 because of fraud allegation, was just on TV denouncing people taking the bonuses. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black |

I could be wrong but hasn't the CEO for AIG been there for only 6 months ? The current CEO is also taking a $1 a year salary and didn't take any of the bonus money. I still think they have a case with the "the contracts are void because they were based on fraudulent numbers" line of thought. -------------------- |
