Myself and various other members and participants have noticed extreme lag problems on server #1. This isn't only isolated to my machine. I just wanted to bring this out to see if it can be looked into. No biggy.

This was just posted by ILAN, it may partly be the reason behind any increase in lag until the move is finished.

We are working at moving off the Worldcom/Alternet/UUNET due to their increasing financial distress. Some points in their network arent quite as smooth as they used to be and there is a matter of continued existence with them.

We have made the decision to move our business in Dallas and Boston to InterNAP. They are a company that buys data from the top 9 ISPs in the nation (UUNET, ATT, Sprint, AOL, Verizion, Cable & Wireless, Genuity (bbn), Verio, and a few others I forget, lol.). They then route this data intelligently. If you have an ATT cable connection, you will route directly to the datacenter, ifyou have sprint, you will route directly to the datacenter. If you have Speakeasy you are even better off, as InterNAP is their ISP.

Here are two test IPs you can ping and trace to:

Boston: 63.251.129.65
Dallas: 216.52.190.65

The move is around 30 days away.

according to him the way I act is reprehensible.
Yet, you're going to censor my signature because it's inappropriate and might hurt his little feelings???
Sorry. don't think so

I get excellent pings from the server in Boston.
Not so hot on the Dallas server though which makes sense as I am in NY.

You might give Genuity a try; not sure if they do any co-location services, but, for bandwidth, they're the next "up and coming" and are doing quiet well.
