I ran 3DMark03 on the eVGA GeForce 6600GT AGP I got a couple of weeks back. Ran a 7711. This is with the beta driver 7.1.2.4.. Other maker's cards come overclocked already and yeilds higher scores, and that is something I'm considering too.

System specs (short)

2.8 gig P4 processor @ 800 fsb
512 mb 3200 DDR RAM
GeForce 6600GT AGP Core-500 Mhz Memory-900 Mhz

Overclocked and now got a 8115. Still room for damage but I'm putting on the brakes for now.

Using Coolbits. I checked Rivatuner but looked like the settings would change back after each restart. True?

Not true. But I think Coolbits is the easiest one to use if you are just adjusting clock and memory frequencies.

Dear POB,

Those scores seem pretty good. I ran the same test on my system, P4 3.4 overclocked to 3621, ATI 9800 XT: 6498. The test comparisons really show the power of the AMD 64. Also that card you bought must be a good one!

I think the test comparisons show more the difference in power between your 9800xt and his 6600gt as 3dmark03 has basically been proven to be more just a video card benchmark. Your processor versus his probably only make a couple hundred point difference. cool.gif

Yea,

I've invested the money in the ATI, right or wrong. Anyway, my system is pretty good. Thanks for the info AOBTC.
