Gmail is web based email. Similar to a yahoo email account only you get 1G of free space instead of 100MB.

Its basically designed to be an email account with enough space to archive information instead of having to constantly delete your emails to free up space.

Its great and its FREE.

I think there was an issue when it came out concerning their right to view your emails? Maybe someone else knows more about this and can explain it better.

Yea I heard about that right thing factor, but it should be fine unless you have something to hide... wink.gif ...

I got 4 invites also, it's pretty cool, you can just archive all your mail.

What happens is the content of your email is put through a filter, and then ads are sent based on certain key words.

Very cool. How did you get invites? SBC gives me two gigs of storage, so I'm set, I just find this interesting. It's like it's a private email club.

You get invites by having an account for a certain amount of time... for example, I have had my account for about 3 months and about 3 weeks ago I got 6 invites, I think you only get 6 at a time.

Bargod are you sure your 2 gigs by SBC is for email?

That sounds like server space for websites not email accounts. But I could be wrong...its happend once or twice.

Yeah, they added it I think this past summer. I used to have to delete emails about once a week, but haven't since then. It's pretty freeking cool. It has a bar above my inbox showing how much I've used. Needless to say, it's just a fraction, lol!
