running, get booted Options

1/2 the time i enter missionary, "one or more pak files have failed" and i have to re-boot my whole system.
almost every time i play, i can expect to get booted at least 2 times for not running missionary. i always go through missionary.

for some reason, it takes my computer 3-4 minutes to go through the missionary steps. that becomes a LONG time when you have to do it 2-3 times every time just to play a game.

why is missionary so hard to get working correctly?
