Im on unemployment and with no fuel... no one will hire truckers.... sooo i have nothing to do... plus I have to think about were to work figuring fuel prices and such... I see crazy shit happening in the next few weeks if not months. (nothing like NO, but a minor depression...) W/E can be done to help, i will do...

we dont have a lot of work right now so i say why not but we have 4 big jobs comming up. when these jobs we have pending are ready i dont know. and lately i have been only getting 25 hours a week.

well dont lose your job to do something like this. there are people that can help others W/O losing their jobs. Thats one of the reasons why I left the Fire Company. Volunteering is a nice thing to do but your family and affairs are important too. people need spend money to keep the economy moving, well thats what they said during 9-11-01. intresting as it is.... I kinda wish that I was still with a fire comapny (not the one i was with <too political> they are doing things to help. but only if asked... kinda weird. I hope I get to do something to help, besides sit here and be told off..... another reason why your neck of the woods is looking mighty good now.

LOL, i second that. I find it amazing that the two people that think its an easy decision to evacuate from a hurricane live in Michigan (undertow) and New York(Silver). Like either of you have ever been through a hurricane. All of the people you are arguing with, Diablik, me, reject, khemist all live in florida. Therefore im pretty sure we know better than you do what happens and how fast hurricane winds can change speeds. To reitarate what reject said, it was a projected cat 3 hurricane in NO. I have been through cat 3 hurricanes, not having major damage to our home. There is no way they could have forseen that hurricane jumping speeds like that, especially when the forecasters project that it would be a cat 3. So u 2 STFU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lmfao .... I live between lake michigan & lake superior. If i have a 4 or more day notice that theres a cat 3 hurricane comming, im leaving michigan. Because as you stated, that doesnt happen here & im not prepared to deal with it. So why would i hang out to see what happens. But im not gonna argue with you about it, Im done with this subject. We obviously dont see eye to eye & theres no point arguing over what cannot be changed.

I just watch a clip on CNN about how a study was done a few years ago in New Orleans about how long it would take to evacuate and they said it would take anywhere from 48-72 hours with the help of the NG.
