I was kicked by Hellfighter for jeep TKing tonight and I wasnt doing anything. I bumped Regs Lyonhart with a jeep. I didnt TK him.

I understand Regs are paying "customers" but some of the Regs are way to abusive and get away with to much. On more than one occasion Lyonhart has called everyone graphic names and called whoever killed him a hacker. Earlier today Regs Samoan Serial Killer had the attached picture to say. And it is by no means the first time he has acted like this.

This is the only server I play on. I dont feel that its right for me to be kicked for doing nothing.

I have never experienced any TK activity from Freely. I guess it was just an accident, and hopefully he did not get banned. (just kicked)

I think we all say some nasty words sometimes when we play, and even feel the need to type it to get out the frustration. Well, we should keep the bad language on vent, TS or Skype with guys we know and be careful with what we type. (maybe not swear on vent either)

By the way, you can all call me whatever you want. (I can't see it - blind - lol)

Just to add... to those that don't play with Serial Killer that often....that is out of character for him to type something like that.

Unfortunately....maybe he was having a bad day....

And for those who don't play with him, don't judge a book by the cover. Most of the people that play on Barb know him and will not judge MOB because of one bad day and one inappropriate comment. If you knew him at all, you would probably get a little chuckle out it yourself.

As for the Lyon....I have never seen him acting appropriate nor talking inappropriat. Just for those of you that don't know most of the Regs have a high tolerance lever when it comes to kicking. Often you see a team asking us to kick one of there teammates. Then we go to spec. mode or just give them a verbal warning. If you don't know what goes on in Barb...maybe you should try it out.

About 85 percent of the people that play on Mob barb servers are regulars who play everyday/night together.

So if someone gets kicked and wants to question it, by all means do so...but for one Reg to make a statement that is out of line and not characteristic of that person.....Leave it alone...

If it was a common habit....then deal with!

First, thanks chums for backing me up.... Lipton and 6-pack know I'm a very fair person on the servers.

Freely, don't make yourself out to be saint last night... that wasn't the case.

Make no mistake, I do not wield the kick sword with frivolity, and am not trigger happy using it.... in fact I let many things go on servers and give fair warning before to avoid doing anything drastic, which is very rarely!

Regarding last night's kick, for verification I repeatedly asked what Freely was doing, from those requesting he be kicked and was informed clearly on vent his jeep tk'ing was not an isolated incident but repeatedly done [if I remember correctly-Druid will supply info on that]. Based on Mr.Freely's unapologetic comment towards the fellow he tk'd, I felt it best to go ahead with a kick even though just prior to that I issued a stern warning.

Judging from the gratified responses after he was kicked I can only assume it was indeed proper.

I was on at the time as well... I've played enough rounds on that server to know whos a jerk and whos not. I've never seen Freely cause a problem. That said, someone complained about him tking last nite, and he didnt seem to offer an apology or explanation whatsoever. Hence, the kick I'm sure.

To address the other point raised, I HAVE in the past seen certain MOB members be rude, and threatening to other players. That, however, is not of my concern - I'm sure MOB can police itself, and will deal with it swiftly if it becomes habitual.

Chris, I'm on Barby server alot and got to know the way many regular folks playing there behave... be they MOB/ MOB regs/ non MOBS. I prefer to put things in perspective. Some habits won't change... and many comments you hear are releases of frustration rather than meaning any malicious degrading.

Geezus- my own weakness was, even though I don't curse, I verbally pummelled nooby players with regularity [colourful non-cursing names only]... now that I have tags on I cut back on that extensively. I remember when I first played Cod MP I took the game way too seriously.... I've lightened up considerably since then. I'd hope my input in gameplay reflects we're all big kids having fun.

My only frustration will now only be towards those that come into a game to be malicious and destructive to the fun concept others want to be feeling while playing. Regarding 'cussing'.... half the MOB servers would be emptied out for 'perceived' abuse..... you yourself have played here enough to know some folks here are blowing steam more than degrading players. Anyways, don't pick on Samoan... he kicks himself out of a match before his head blows apart like a melon from frustration when things are going awry on his side.... or he can't control R2 area .

Regarding hacking... I'm very gullable in not noticing it and I therefore never accuse anyone of doing it. While some may quiz my own successful consistency in up close and personal melees, I never question others owning me in situations where I thought I should've owned.

Like Silver 'recommends', deal with it.... I've been kicked a few times here by mistake. I only did what I judged the situation needed based on the ''insistency" of the kick request and the remark by you thereafter.

And now, can someone ban me from the forums, I'm tending to babble here too much... typing here more than playing!!!

kick from forums.... People make mistakes and hit people all the time, but all it takes is one, "my bad". or something of sort. Bottom line is, if you are pissing someone off by doing something, and they call you out on it, you MUST offer some sort of expainaiton. silence is a death sentence.

No...twas Freely I kicked..... thats why he's posting here.... I was asking repeatedly who was doing what , just to make sure. Also, even if no apology given I wouldn't boot him for that. It was a comment after the incident [not rude-just seemingly smirking] which swayed me to kick and not just stick with my original intent to just keep at a warning.

After looking at the log I'm guessing he shouldn't have been kicked.
Freely was playing on the axis team, no one just prior the the t/k complaint had been t/ked.
Hellfighter took someone else on their word that Freely was t/king but it appears he wasn't.
This highlights one of the biggest problems dealing with someone t/king on the server.
The admin pretty much has to take complaints from a player about t/king on the person's word, otherwise the admin would be required to wait until he saw it happen or it happened to him.
I normally don't even pay attention to t/k complaints until the same person has been accused twice.
Accidental t/king happens fairly often. I doubt there is anyone who plays a lot who hasn't done it before.
The most common time is when someone is rushing to defuse a base, they hop out and thier jeep ends up hitting someone else running up to defuse too.

For the question concerning if he has played under another name. Freely started playing on the server the 2nd day it was up. Since then, he has been on over 60+ days, always under the same name.

I'm gonna weigh in here, for better or for worse.

There are guys who play here who can't seem to take the stuff that they dish out. I'm NOT going to name names, but there are people on this server who bitch and whine and taunt others with name calling but CANNOT stand when something happens to them. This is a perfect example of that.

I've seen Lyonhart whine and taunt regularly and is NEVER reprimanded (nor do any of us regulars care about it). But if someone bumps him with a jeep, he wants them KICKED? Give me a break...it's the epitome of hypocrisy.

All of us wielding the kick stick need to use it with care. I'm certainly not immune from accusations of responding to the loud complaints of other players by kicking a player based upon those complaints. I've also fallen victim to this very thing. I first entered these forums after being kicked when some noobs were accusing me of hacking in Kursk. The MOB member at the time accused me of hacking and my response was, "It is called skill." Next thing I knew, I was out the door.

I'm damn glad I was kicked that day, as it brought me to these forums where the injustice was corrected, a very nice apology was made and I soon discovered MOB was a great place to hang.

I've been impressed with Cross of Iron's responsible approach. If people are complaining about a particular player, he doesn't hesitate to put himself in Spec mode to follow the player. He then wields the stick if he sees something that is kick or ban-worthy. Not many of us are willing to take the time, but Cross is dedicated and he respects the power that he has been granted. We should all be so dedicated.

as for ipfreely, im glad to see he isnt a tk'r but it does happen often, more then needed. I use judgement when I kick, like if I know the person complaining, then warnings, (maybe spectate) then kick. depending on the situation and what is needed.

unfortunatly there is always human error, hell is a good man and wouldnt kick you if he didnt feel it nessary. you may not have tk'd but he says your response was what got you kicked in general.

Just to set the record straight .. I have nothing against Hellfighter. He was just doing what was asked of him by a fellow teammate. The problem was that the fellow teammate doesnt like me because I kill him occasionally. I bumped lyonhart but I didnt TK him and didnt think I needed to apologize for that.

I dont want or need an apology .. the info that Druid provided was enough for me.

Like I said before- I'll never boot someone for not apologizing for an accidental tk, let alone a bump!! That's one reason why I asked Druid to input here so I myself could get clarification on the real events.

I'm aware of Lyonheart [ a chum too ] getting very excited at times, but last night the fuss he kicked up was extra 'emphatic' -on vent - thus some of you were not aware of this dialogue besides the typed-global and team chat. So I took him at his word. I really do avoid booting at all costs, even on the rare occasion when I'm getting called cussy names more out of frustration or someone acting bratty-silly. I've kicked 3 [2?] folks in 3 weeks and definately on those occasions for tk'ing only, either seen by myself OR a whole bunch of folks playing pointing out such a villain.

Anyways I'll do things different now; I used to spectate and get screenshots of evil situations before I became MOB, so I think I'll return to that more thorough approach.... the folks that I know to get excitable that make a call for my use of punitive powers will get a much more scrutinized investigation first on my part.

Well, the good thing about this thread is it raises some good issues. So, humble apologies fellow MOBs and Chris for my booboo, but it was a judgement call which more often than not I get right.

I had a funny thing happen this evening. Cross and I were on Stocks ... okay, maybe I was the only one who thought it was funny...

He had just come into the game. I thought he was spectating when I saw an American running at my tank. I opened up with the mg only to hear Cross pleading "don't shoot, it's me!" I stopped firing and immediately worried someone would witness this obvious sedition on my part. I didn't know what Cross was doing, but I turned my attention on some tanks that had opened fire on my position. Out of the corner of my eye I see Cross run around my tank, disappearing behind me. A second later, I'm blown to smithereens by Cross's RPG!! The bastard!

I respawned to the sounds of him convulsing in fits of laughter. I did the only sensible thing. I brought down the console and put the big kick stick on him! It worked perfectly. He thought it was Punk Buster that had kicked him (a problem he has been grappling with all week), now I was the one rolling on the floor. The only problem was, when he tried to reenter, he was told he couldn't re-enter for 20 minutes. I had to confess and apologize.

Something is different. For some time, a kick on the Stock server was only momentary, a player could come right back in. Obviously, PB has been reset so that the default time is back to the standard 20 minutes. My bad. Cross filled his down time by reading the forums to me as I continued to battle! He'd pause after every thread to remind me of the pain I was to suffer upon his return! HA!

So, the moral of the story is simple, if you are going to use the kick stick as a joke, be sure to specify 0 minutes!
