It would be really great if we could get a few more mods on the Cassino server. Lately its been going to crap because of verbal abuse. Players getting angry because other players are doing better than them. I personally cannot play a single round with out being accused of cheating. This is just getting totally out of control. How about a zero tolerance policy?

It used to be just new players to the server, but now a lot of the regular players have picked up this same bad habbit. Something should be done because its becoming less and less fun to play on what used to be a really fun server.

Yes you're right about angry players in there... I don't show up as much as I used to lately, but when I do swagger into town like a Marshall, I mention to the banditos how things are run in these here parts.... Funny catch last week was a regular player -*** edit*** a regular visitor to the server****- getting a caution from me about excess cussing to which he replied
"I always swear on this server!"
"Then you'll always get kicked from this server.". I responded. He didn't get too huffy but inquired if these were 'new policies'... A mention to him not to go overboard with cussing calmed him down thereafter.

from now on if i see anything, i always give the guy a simple warning, if he ignores then i kick him.

I was there when that happened, that was silly. I am moving away from Cassino to, i still play a lot, but i like Stocks, and the new map, Tuchola Forest (is that right spelling) more so now. Doesn't seem like theres a lot of respect for {MOB} guys on Cassino anymore.

Now that PB is out for COD2 you guys should try to migrate... LOL.
I know this is the home server for a lot of new regs, and that is great, but it's one map. I have to admit that I was one of the guys that said this would be a great map to have when we first switched to UO. And it worked so well that we even had a 24/7 mohaa map (remagen) for a while that also did well. To me what's unfortunate is that we weren't able to expand to more TDM maps from the cassino map. It would be cool if all you guys were into TDM in general and started a UO TDM team. But, as I said, since there is finally a cod2 PB patch out, maybe you should try your luck at cod2. Oddly enough there is no Cassino map, which is odd, cuz they pretty much just copied all the other maps for cod2, even though they claimed they were new maps.
Plus, if we close Cassino it frees up space on our box. Which means either better quality for all our other servers, or possibly starting a new server, maybe a cod2 s&d or ctf. Or maybe something entirely new.

*edit* I should also say that I think the Cassino map did better than any one of us could have predicted. Thank you to all you loyal players.

I have no opinion one way or the other about closing the server but I did think I should supply a little info to help people make an informed decision.
About 2 months ago i started tracking CPU usage of all the game server, prior to this I assumed Barb would be the CPU hog. My assumption was based on my experience from my mohaa days were custom maps typically were more CPU intensive than stock maps. After reviewing the logs I was surprised to find Cassino was the most CPU intensive server out of all of them. My best guess is because of the graphics on Cassino.
On average Cassino half full uses almost as much CPU time as Barb when it full.

Hope you don't think about closing cassino!

Maybe put a spawn protection, i know that spawn killing is allowed on your server but maybe if we eliminate spawn rapping we would have less complaint!!

From what I've heard, the CoD2 patch has been a failure. Please don't jump too quickly to drop the Cassino server. If anything, I'd like to see Cassino stay on in rotation with another regular map. I know there's another thread covering that, so I'll stop here.

Cassino is a resource hog, but once smoke and tanks are off.. it's not too bad. Smoke kills a lot of maps.

killing cassino would upset quite a few people. not many MOB because i know none of you got into the whole UO TDM, but it was severely cramp what gaming of COD i have left....barb is horribly boring now. and i'm getting downright pissed off at all the damn tanks everywhere on every other map we play.

if i had CoD2 working, BG i'd be open for it. but it won't work for me.....all we need to do is severely tear down on guys who create havoc.

that means YOU, Wolf. i am very serious about if you do NOT stop your language i will kick you without hesitation. not only can you give MOB a bad name, you also make it seem alright for other regulars to do it "since the guy with the tags does" . i know i had a language problem too, but i have extremely cut down on it. and i'm not going to keep telling you to chill out. you have to learn some self-control. after all....its a game.

cassino is a good server and I see where lip is coming from. But another cod2 would be good. Although if the patch is not working then I would have to agree on keeping cassino open. It is the only server we have on UO without tanks.

i think a very strict policy for language on cassino would be a good thing. i don't think anyone reads/abides by the "rules" of our servers. i also hate when people complain about being spawnkilled.

spawn-protection is not great. 70% of the kills are spawns there. it makes it more up-beat and exciting . just tell whoever is complaining that MOB allows spawnkilling, but does NOT allow complaining . if they don't get the hint , let one of us know .

I know you all want to kill cassino. I know I have absolutely no influence either.
Still, cassino is the gateway to other mob servers. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for cassino, niether would lipton, wolf, shake, and so forth. I know some people have a ludacris dislike towards cassino regs, and I'm not sure why, foolish if you think about it.
Keep the damn thing up, as soon as I get back to work I'll be glad to throw down some bills to help.

Well as we know, cassino lately has alot of people that have a habbit of picking disturbing words.
Further Cassino is alot of frag trowing, thompson spraying and spawnkill camping. There is no tactics whatsoever. Its very instense and head-on.
My opinion towards the cassino people is that they look for some easy highspeed action, and mainly that arent my type of people.

Respect and accept other people at how they are. Live relaxed as the world is already hactic enough... Maturity doesn't come with age but comes with understanding valueble lessons.

how does that help at all feezy? its just a different gameplay then squatting an ass into a tank. it takes a lot better hand-eye coordnation, and if you don't mind me saying...more skill . its a lot harder to go 50-10 in cassino then it is in barb...

Cassino teaches people how to shoot. Personally I learned how to use a kar and pistol on Cassino maps. Now I can charge a tommy with my rifle and normally come out with the win.

Killing Cassino would be a shame its a really fun map. I think the big problem are the mouths. Cassino works well to bring players to the other mob servers as well. I would have never started playing on the Barb server if I hadn't played Cassino for a while.

Personally I feel like the easiest solution to the problem I was talking about was to get a few more Sheriff's on the street and make an example of some people. If the regulars to the server weren't participating in the constant slander of fellow players the newbies to the server would pickup on that.

Exactly my point. Us cassino people die a lot in BAS, if you haven't noticed.We like to run and gun, and a lot of people enjoy it. Is it skill? Hell yes. I will boast and say the cassino Regs are capable of taking multiple enemies on at once and walking out in one piece.
The intensity of the game causes frustration, thus the bad language. Give the cassino regulars kicking power, that is, of course if you can trust them (contempt and sarcasm intended here).

There are a lot of good spawn protect mods out there where the admin has complete control of the time, if it turns off when you shoot, etc. I think it wouldn't hurt to have 2 seconds after you spawn. Since the server is set to auto-spawn, you can't wait a minute for your spawn to change. So when a sniper or twelve get your spawn zoned in, you don't even spawn really. Die, die, die. All and all, it doesn't bother me too much cause it's just a game. Well, it does bother me when the snipers start trashtalking. PWNED and junk. Snipe raping is like beating up a 5 month old baby with a crow bar. No skill, no challenge... just a nice way to pump up those stats.

Overall, I would suggest 2 seconds of spawn time, or smoke nades back, or manual respawn. my two cents

The problem with smoke nades, from what I hear is they cause way too much server lag. I don't know cuz I don't play that map. I might jump in on occasion now & again though.

I get what your saying but what about satchels thrown in spawn or arty. You cant avoid that. Just like in the movie Saving Private Ryan, when those ships opened up it was open season. War is war, there is no protection other than a helmet. I can see the arguement of having smoke, but not a spawn guard for 2 seconds. Then you might as well take out all the rifles in there because you will need a MG.

I get the whole beach landing analogy, but that's life and this is a game where people respawn to play. I'm all for demolishing a spawn and making the team respawn somewhere else. I just don't get the whole premeditated spawn rapage that happens at times. People will camp the top floor of the hotel and just knock people off as they spawn in the opposite corner ruins. There's not too much skill to that although the stats say so. I think it's part of the game in a way, but so is corner camping which I think is extremely lame.

Not going against you personally Nothing if you do spawn rape a lot, just my opinion. I think the people doing that have every right to take out a few here and there, but to continually do it while racking up the score... it takes some of the fun out of the game. I've been on the server quite a few times when almost entire teams have logged off the server because of it. Personally, I'd prefer the server was packed all the time... so it's give and take.

Maybe we could try the spawn protection? If there's to much complaint about it take it out.

As for the smoke i think the bigest problem was dumbass smokin sniper in their own team but smoke is very usefull to cover your guys from a sniper or a mg34 sprawing around!

I understand what you say about no talent to spawn kill, but there is more in that than running in a room with a tommy and the pray and spray talents. Im not saying you do that, but many do. By sniping we are taking a huge chance that someone can come up and bash us. And if we are face to face with someone with a MG it is really like a 5% chance we will get a lucky shot off to kill you. There is a skill in it. I rather play as a sniper than run around spraying. There is strategy used no matter what weapon you use. If you take out the spawning in a small map like Cassino, you might as well take out the rifles like I said. Thats the difficult thing when using a small map.

Let's put things into perspective too. Realistically, a spawn rape occurs maybe 3 times max in a game for a side getting owned and each time it'll only last 30 seconds - not really enough to put the game out of whack compared to the Smolensk spawn ownage issues which took out half a team potentially seemingly endlessly.

I re-read my post before and it's a bit harsh. I don't really have any big issues with spawn raping in Cassino. I do realize that all weapons have pros and cons so strategy does play a huge part in the game. I guess the sniping thing doesn't bother too much... it's those bastards that sit in that room w/the window behind that one spawn point. That's a no skill strategy to boost points and I hope you agree... I could do that and drink a beer at the same time.

The images... I typically use Photoshop CS2. Other than that, I use mediums such as graphite pencils, acrylics, oils, etc. I'd like to learn ceramics so I can make my own tiki mugs.

I have to agree on the Carentan, Cassino, Dawnville deal, few new maps would liven it up. I really would not recommend closing the sever though. I was referred to that server from a buddy who said it was great, i thought it was great and moved on to Stocks, Barb and now Tuchola. It is the gateway to all of {MOB}'s severs and the forum for lots of people, including me.

A map rotation would be pretty fun. Screw spawn protection. Making some regular players admins is interesting but could go either way.

I think we could use more regs with actual kicking powers. Most have 15power points where 30 is needed to kick. There are alot of good Regs around that would be "good" with those powers and not abuse it. MOB has 100 while at times I dont understand why they do...Silver kicking T-B-N...

I dont mind cassino but we need more servers and to be blunt, if we could get a few bucks a month from each Reg then we could do that and expand out more. cutting down our commitments by briging more people in. more people that pay the less we all pay. and the more servers we can run and have more fun and more maps and more people in.

right now we have more then 40 regs 40*10=400 equals new box and 4-5 more servers

right now {MOB} is putting up 20-100 bucks to keep our heads above water...

I understand we have young players and some who CANNOT pay, but it would be nice to do more with a little funding from others....

and having more regs is always a good thing.

besides 5-10 a month you spend that on 2 coffees or 2 packs of smokes or a case of beer. you cant go to the movies and get the quality of entertainment you do from this.

24 hours a day * 30 days a month = 720 hours of play (24/7 access with a private passwords!

720 hours of play / 10 bucks a month = .0069 cents per hour of ability of play. not counting forums and ventrilo etc... not a bad deal!

so lets 720 * 5 = 3600 hours of ability of playing now devide that by ten bucks!

thats .0027 cents per hour. unreal! so in 10 hours of play that 3 cents. you cant even buy penny candy anymore its like 5 cents now...

even if you do it by the day

30 / 10 = .33 cents per day! for 5 servers!!!! still cant do that anywere else!



movies are 12 bucks for an 3 hour movie (no popcorn just by yourself at a long azz movie) still equals out to 4 bucks per hour.

hockey games are 85 bucks a ticket for a few hours...

arcade is 20 bucks @ 4 tokens a game....20 games? games lasts like max 5 minutes? (depends on game)

I never heard of anyone not liking the cassino ppl... there was a few worries about them because noone knew them... I am glad we got ppl like lipton, CMD Coth, feezy, etc...

LOL, sounds like you were like me [in our youth years] and blew disgusting amounts of quarters playing 'Defender' / 'Streetfighter' / Pinball games etc.,

No doubt! We definitely need something to happen in this area. Example, I have now had two occasions in Barb where I was the only {MOB} rep. in the map and had players that needed to be removed because of language. The second occasion I verbally warned the guy, in which he proceeded to laugh in my face and continued to push his weight around. I was powerless to do anything. The President, Real McCoy and several others were waiting for me to make the kick. I left the server in frustration. Started to go get "somebody" from Bob's map to remove this guy, but then I didn't want to disrupt their game, plus by the time I got on vent, etc...... Could use some tools here. If you don't want me to have them that's fine, just give me a number or some kinda directions as to how this should be handled in the future, cause it aint cool to be the only member in there and everyone is looking to you to get rid of a problem and you can't.

I have to agree with the regs, I remeber in the mohaa days when I was a reg, and when players come into a sever and are being assholes and without rcon there was really nothing you could do, and I hated that. Getting out of the game and finding other MOB members to kick someone always turns into a hassle. In my opinion, not all regs should have more power points but I differently think more regs should have power points to do the job that MOB players are not always around to do.

I will agree that almost everyime i play with mag7 someone accuses him of cheating, thers SO much unnecessary swearing and quarreling also.

My only real problem is that it lags ALOT even when theres not so many peeps in the server at the time.

I THINK IT WOULD BE AMAZING and i would personally cry for a night if u guys made a

{MOB}RatsKitchen24/7 sooo many people would go on that and it would just be so much fun!!!
