I have kicked this guy serveral times for language He was on again today but jumped off before I could ban him.....here the screeny.

I found out today that I was banned on the recommendation of Dolphin Girl. Although I am “guilty” of using language deemed by others to be offensive, I must say I am a bit surprised (apparently using lmao is ok but using the word a$$ is not). Others who have been banned complained of a double standard when it comes to language and even provided screen shots of MOB members violating their own offensive language rule. Now, ultimately it is “your” server and you can make the rules as you see fit – and you have as evidenced by MOB members not being held to the same standard.



My only beef is disclosure. MOB servers posts a generic “please refrain from using profain {sic} language” however what constitutes profane seems to be ill defined. I have no problem of a legitimate ban based on blatant violation of the rules; however I feel that I was not sufficiently made aware of the severity of the violations. Dolphin Girl mentions she has kicked me “several times” – that’s news to me. I can’t recall ever receiving a warning and certainly not an ultimatum about my behaviour. It may be helpful (judging from all the banned forum postings) for the server to post a very clear and definite warning (e.g. “you are being warned for using offensive language – one more violation will result in a permanent ban”). You know, if I received a message like that, I would have cease and desisted. Even so, I felt my “offensive language” was tame and inoffensive, but that’s a matter of opinion, nor did I feel like I violated the rules of conduct (I did NOT use excess profanity).



In the end, the decision to ban is up to you. I hope you reconsider based on the following:



-- inconsistent application of the rules (se above) – MOB can get away with violating the server rules. You need to have consistent standards.

-- I have played MOB BARB server for a very long time (before Dolphin girl), yet I was dropped from behind closed doors with no opportunity for rebuttal. I’m beginning to think DG is really Dick Cheney.

-- cooperation and teamwork – many MOB members can attest that I spend a lot of time working on teamwork and coordination and am an asset to any team



Lastly, I can’t close without mentioning how I understand the frustration level experienced by non-MOB players. MOB has the BARB map dialed in. MOB players use the paks to blow bunkers and rely on team chat to coordinate attacks. It’s no longer a game, but more of a task for MOB players. Now I fully understand that’s the end result of a clan playing one map type; however those who play occasionally are not afforded the same advantages. I do not know where to aim the paks to blow bunkers (advantage – MOB); I do not get on vent and coordinate with my fellow non-MOB teammates (advantage – MOB). I do not have a well rehearsed M.O. nor do non-MOB players (advantage – MOB). So while you frequently use the retort “it’s only a game” (in the forum posts) those who play occasionally are frequently outclassed by the MOB players and some get frustrated and lash out in many ways (e.g. cussing). In the end, you will eventually wind up with a MOB-only server playing each other and where’s the fun in that?



In closing, let me say that I hope you would reconsider my ban (and a ban of perhaps others who fall in the same boat as I do). I would hate to think that I am permanently banned based on the objections of a few without so much as stern warning.

You also insulted MOB and insulted me in your post, Do you honestly think your going to be unbanned I have kicked you several times and I know Silver has kicked you and have also kicked you under my son's name cause every time your on your swearing. So for you to say you have never been kicked you lie. You will not be unbanned. So please stop wasting my time. How do you guys expect to have a civil discussion when you keep taking away their rights to post. Are you afraid they will keep proving their double standard points and make you look bad? Even i think Zyprexa and Celexa are abusing their language but commiekazi and even those two have a point. If you're worried about others seeing the conversation why not just PM them or something?

well to me it looks like two of them were calming down and trying to talk about it, they really do have a point about double standards on here and the game, and besides, if your worried about people seeing these conversations, why would you even make a ban folder anyways, the only people who should bother reading it are those involved so what's the big deal?...regardless, what about PM's if you're worried about people reading it in the forums? just throwing some idea's out there....time to game on it!!!

ok...i have talked to celexa at least, not the other two, but in his email, and i can clearly see his point, he was not being a troll. and actually, in the def it says intentionally annoying as well as the others...did he not admit, granted celex is a he, that he went overboard with the swearing...i mean seriously silver, you have a girl with boobs flopping everywhere and it's ok to have that and no bad words?.....now i'm sure you'll saying something about it being directed to MOB, but actually, it was towards two other guys, in which case several people were upset with it.....i want to take your side because i enjoy the server myself, but i'm starting to find it hard to believe you guys don't just want the server for yourself like commie said.......i think people are just waiting for you guys to force donations to play on there or have a password.....celex said he wanted to PM you about it himself but can't because you won't let him (he says cause you're afraid, but w/e)....the dude made a mistake, he admitted it, but got no warning from actual MOB members, just banned for who knows how long....hard to feel like you guys are trying to make things nice for players with that.....anyways, good luck with this, peace out.

Regardless of what Language was used on the server, You completely disrespected the clan of which you are playing on their servers. I dont care which members of MOB let slip some foul language, the rule says to keep language to a minimum. If you disrespect any member of MOB I am glad to see your sorry ass gone! See Ya!

ok, let's look at it this way...quite a few of you didn't realize it, maybe that's because you actually took the time to respond and think rather than seeing the name....besides, it was fucking hilarious. actually, i'm laughing right now. OK, TO THE IMPORTANT NEWS!! i found a new server with no double standards and, get this!!!....you can actually have fun and joke around on there!!!! holy shit, it's craaaaaaaazy!!!! so mob, i leave you with this enjoy!!

I think the big diference between the forums and the server is that the forums require a registration and a disclaimer form which people have to check or acknowledge. Also, you can get a good idea of who people are through the forums by their puncuation, spelling, grammar, etc. On the server, you'll get a lot of 12 year olds, no offense to anyone, that think it's cool to say "fuck" or "shit" because it's forbidden in the household. Suddenly, kids are feeling like king of the castle or liberated from normal rules because they hide behind the anonymity of the internet.

My personal rule to myself, never say or do anything online that I wouldn't do to anyone that I would see on a regular basis. I am honest and empathatic. Some of the disrespect I've seen on the MOB servers really boggles my mind. Before I became a Regs member, there was atleast one guy a week coming on and calling everyone "nigger" over and over again. <----See the rule above about kids and being on the internet. I'm sure the people that post that stuff would never even whisper that word ,or most of the others they say, in public because they'd get a beating. But because there are no consequences online, they get away with it.

I think what it comes down to is people want attention. These kids aren't getting enough attention from their parents, teachers, or classmates... so they want to act like a tough guy in a video game. Good luck with that, you're life is destined for failure.
